The iHeartRadio Country Music Festival is coming to television tonight. iHeartMedia is reporting that the two-hour special will be hosted by Darius Rucker and Jennifer Nettles from the Frank Eerwin Center in Austin, Texas. The iHeartRadio Country Music Festival was first aired on Yahoo! Live on May 2. Tonight, the entire nation will be able to witness this exciting knee-slapping event on NBC . The two-hour special event will present a rich mix of flawless performances by ‘Life Is A Highway ‘s Rascal Flatts, and ‘Truck Yeah’ and ‘Southern Girl’ singer Tim Mcgraw.
Country music fans will also hear from “Brad Paisley, Darius Rucker, Little Big Town, Dierks Bentley, Brantley Gilbert, Justin Moore, The Band Perry, iHeartRadio ‘s On The Verge artist Sam Hunt and Tyler Farr as well as special guest appearances by Bobby Bones, Big & Rich, Cody Alan, Brooklyn Decker, Craig Robinson, Eric Decker and Jessie James Decker.”
This is the second annual country music fest put on by iHeartRadio Country Music Festival . The first annual show also took place in Austin in 2014. According to Taste Of Country , the iHeartRadio Country Festival was inspired by the annual iHeart Radio Music Festival in Las Vegas. The huge turn out for the country music acts was overwhelming—-sparking event planners to create an iHeart Radio Country Festival specifically for that genre.
Over the last decade there has been a bit of a tug of war between true country music fans and the newer, younger generation of fans with a liking for the newer country sound. Old classic country fans say the new sound that is taking over radio and tv air waves is not true country – complaining that the bass, tone and lyrics in today’s country sounds too pop, and has too many elements of Hip Hop music, such as talk of sex and boozing it up.
The hip generation of country music fans believe the new sound is more appealing to everyone, including mainstream music listeners. Those who had the privilege of attending the live event say that the atmosphere was exciting and friendly – without the competitive spirit that is so divisive among artists.
So, put on your hats and your boots and enjoy the memorable line-up of country music singers at the iHeartRadio Country Festival tonight . Here is the tease from iHeartRadio’s official website.
“Country music’s biggest superstars hit the stage for iHeartRadio’s second annual Country Festival, which will broadcast on NBC Wednesday, May 27, 9-11 pm ET / 8-10 pm CT.”
