Fall Out Boy & 5SOS Collaboration
Fall Out Boy made headlines earlier this week when their views on Nirvana and Kurt Cobain were aired amid claims from fans that Fall Out Boy had been availing themselves of some of Nirvana’s lyrics.
Fall Out Boy is back in the headlines again today, this time with their comments on the 5 Seconds of Summer boys.
Headlining at last weekend’s two-day BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend music festival, both Fall Out Boy and 5SOS wowed fans with their wild performances, according to Pop Crush. Fans and commentators eager on a possible Fall Out Boy / 5SOS collaboration looked for any clues during the music festival in Norwich, England. Unfortunately for eager fans, the best that Sugar Scape could come up with was that 5SOS were caught watching Fall Out Boy’s performance from side of stage, and that Patrick Stump and the rest of the Fall Out Boy group have collaborated with One Direction in the past. What this has got to do with a possible future collaboration with 5SOS is anyone’s guess.
Fall Out Boy apparently did notice that 5SOS were watching from the wings, though.
We saw that, it was nice of them, they’re great guys.

And when asked why there has been no collaboration to date, Fall Out Boy’s Joe Trohman apparently blamed it all on bad timing, according to Sugar Scape.
“What’s crazy is we keep trying to have it happen, then it doesn’t happen. It’s one of those things. It’s timings and stuff. It’ll happen eventually.”
Back in February, 2015, Fall Out Boy recorded an interview for Australia’s Shazam radio and talked about their thoughts on new and upcoming artists after spending time at the Soundwave Festival. Even back then, they had some pretty nice things to say about 5SOS.
“We got a chance to hang out with the 5 Seconds kids when we were in California last week. I thought they were, like… really sweet and they were funny. They liked the same rock bands, it was cool, it was funny.”

So, for those of you holding out for a Fall Out Boy / 5SOS collaboration, it looks like it’s in the cards – provided their “timings” work out. But in the meantime, enjoy these Fall Out Boy / 5SOS mashups with our compliments. Comment below with your favorite.
On the other hand, it seems not everyone is convinced that a Fall Out Boy / 5SOS would be a good thing.
