B.B. King Autopsy Findings Do Not Support Daughters’ Poisoning Allegations

Preliminary results from B.B. King’s autopsy do not support allegations by his daughters that the legendary musician was poisoned. According to Las Vegas police, there is no active homicide investigation taking place into King’s death.

Clark County coroner, John Fudenberg, tells CNN that initial results from B.B. King’s autopsy do not provide any evidence to substantiate Patty King’s and Karen Williams’ allegations that their father was poisoned.

According to ABC News, Las Vegas police Lt. Ray Steiber confirms there is no active homicide investigation into King’s death at this time.

B.B. King passed away May 14 in Las Vegas at the age of 89. As the Inquisitr previously reported, the blues legend suffered a series of strokes leading up to his death and suffered from dementia.

In the months preceding King’s death, three of his daughters alleged the musician was abused and neglected by caregivers. Since his passing, King and Williams have alleged the musician died from being poisoned by two of his close associates, LaVerne Toney and Myron Johnson. According to Billboard, the sisters, in identically worded sections of their affidavits, say that family members were prevented from visiting their father in the week leading up to his death and that they both believe King was murdered.

“I believe my father was poisoned and that he was administered foreign substances. I believe my father was murdered.”

Toney, who worked in B.B.’s employ for 39 years and was at the musician’s side when he died, says these allegations are nothing new as the sisters have been hurling accusations for months. Toney is the executor of King’s estate. According to USA Today, documents filed by some of the heirs indicate the late musician’s estate is worth tens of millions of dollars. The attorney for the estate, Brent Bryson, says three doctors determined the musician was cared for appropriately and that the sisters’ latest allegations that King was murdered are ridiculous and go against the wishes of King himself.

“I hope they have a factual basis that they can demonstrate for their defamatory and libelous allegations. This is extremely disrespectful to B.B. King. He did not want invasive medical procedures. He made the decision to return home for hospice care instead of staying in a hospital. These unfounded allegations have caused Mr. King to undergo an autopsy, which is exactly what he didn’t want.”

B.B. King’s autopsy was performed Sunday. Full results of the autopsy will take six to eight weeks to complete, according to the coroner.
