Sarah Michelle Gellar And Alyson Hannigan Have A ‘Buffy The Vampire Slayer’ Reunion

Sarah Michelle Gellar and Alyson Hannigan put smiles on many Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans. The two were spotted together, sharing an unofficial reunion. The two shared a number of selfies on their social media networks, so fans got a glimpse into the worlds post Buffy.

Gellar, who played the title character on the show, had only recently shared a series of photos from the series finale. Us Weekly shared the Instagram post, where Sarah commented how she said goodbye to a friend 12 years ago. The series finale aired on May 20, 2003, seven years after the pilot episode. The show was slated to fail at first, since it was based on the unsuccessful movie. However, Joss Whedon’s work and Gellar’s performance helped to draw in the viewers.

In the photos shared on Instagram, Sarah Michelle Gellar was with her co-stars, David Boreanaz, Michelle Trachtenberg and Hannigan.

Over the weekend, Gellar tweeted about how “awesome” the party was and shared a photo with her giraffe, thanking her co-stars. Alyson Hannigan married Alexis Denisof, who played Wesley Wyndam-Pryce on Buffy and later the spin-off Angel. They were celebrating the couple’s daughter’s third birthday. They also have a five-year-old daughter, Savannah.

Sarah and her husband Freddie Prinze, Jr. were there with their children, Charlotte and Rocky, according to TIME. The two married a year before Hannigan and Denisof.

It is not often that the cast of Buffy the Vampire Slayer get together. There are a few conventions, but very few of the bigger named cast members have been there. Boreanaz is busy with Bones, Hannigan was busy with How I Met Your Mother, and Gellar has had a number of shows and movies while also focusing on motherhood. However, they are still close friends and regularly speak to each other through social media and privately.

The co-stars who have children tend to keep their young ones out of the limelight. However, there is the odd time that they post something for their fans, which Sarah did earlier this month. She shared a photo on Instagram of her two children playing together early in the morning. She said that Charlotte was trying to help by getting Rocky up, but took him on a safari instead.

After running for seven years, it is unsurprising that the majority of the cast members are still close. That is especially unsurprising when they have children around the same age. Another unofficial Buffy the Vampire Slayer reunion may happen in the future if Sarah Michelle Gellar and Alyson Hannigan have a reason for it.
