Clint Arlis: Five Fun Facts About The Super-Smart ‘Bachelorette’ Contender
Clint Arlis made a good impression on Kaitlyn Bristowe on night one of The Bachelorette. He gave her a hand-drawn picture of host Chris Harrison riding a triceratops. Arlis had joked that he didn’t know whether the Bachelorette was going to be Bristowe or Britt Nilsson, so he drew the one person he knew would be on the program.
As Kaitlyn tweeted the night of the broadcast, the triceratops is her favorite dinosaur, so the gesture likely put Chris in her good graces. Chris Harrison had identified Arlis as a contestant to watch this season, so here are some fun facts about the man CarterMatt calls an “engineer with good hair.”
He is a bit of a brainiac. The Daily Heraldreported last month that Arlis is a graduate of the University of Illinois, where he got double master’s degrees in architecture and civil engineering. Fittingly, he’s now an architectural engineer and works for a construction and development firm in Chicago. He was an honors student in high school and a star wrestler.
He is one of three kids. Clint, 27, is the oldest of the three. His sister, Taylor, is 24, and brother Logan is 23. Taylor followed Arlis’ footsteps to the University of Illinois, where she is currently in veterinary school.
He is experienced when it comes to relationships. Taylor Arlis told the Herald that Clint has had many romantic engagements, and he likes smart women.
“He’s always had a serious girlfriend. All through high school he had one, and then he dated another girl up until two years ago, or a year and a half ago. He’s a good boyfriend. He’s easy to get along with.
“His girlfriends have been some of my closest friends. He doesn’t go after bimbos. He doesn’t like the dumb ones.”
He is a romantic, according to his official ABC bio.
“I believe in passion and the idea of when I’m with someone, I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else in the world.
Family is important. Clint named his dad as the person he most admires. His father, Tom, is a wrestling coach and teaches photography at an Illinois high school. His mother, Jamie, is an interior designer.
Taylor said the family is excited to see Clint on television, and although they were initially concerned about editing, they believe he will remain on his best behavior.
“His personality is very funny, and a lot of people will like to see him on TV. I know I will. I can’t wait until it airs. We’re all so excited. My grandma is so excited.”
The Bachelorette airs at 9 p.m. Eastern time on ABC.
