Britt Nilsson was certain she was supposed to be the new Bachelorette. As she told Jimmy Kimmel after her elimination last week, she had a feeling being in the mansion giving out roses was in her future, but it was not to be. After weeks of build-up, the premiere episode of The Bachelorette revealed Kaitlyn Bristowe would do the honors this season.
“I was shocked. I really was. I just had this feeling that I was supposed to do it, so in my mind, that meant I’m gonna do the whole season. I met these guys and I felt things starting. I did like some of these guys, there were a few.”
But does that mean Nilsson doesn’t find love? On Kimmel, the host pressed Britt for details on Brady Toops, who dramatically exited the rose ceremony to tell Kaitlyn his heart was with Nilsson, and he planned to go find her. Bachelorette host Chris Harrison obliged, and last week’s cliffhanger involved Toops showing up at Nilsson’s hotel room door.
She didn’t tell Kimmel what happened, although sources told Us Weekly the couple are still together.
“Brady and Britt are still together. They’re very happy.”
Brady Toops seems like a good fit for Britt Nilsson. The two share a common faith. Brady is a gospel singer-songwriter from Nashville, and Nilsson revealed to ABC that she volunteers as a greeter at her church.
Brady Toops’ official website says his music can’t be put in any one particular box.
“As an indie artist who often defies category, Brady continues to redefine the proposed gap between the sacred and secular, making music that truly appeals to the soul.”
A quick scan of Brady’s Twitter feed, and it’s clear he adheres to a kind of spiritual philosophy Britt finds appealing. Britt had also revealed to Kimmel that she was initially drawn to contestant Tony, a healer, because he seemed “cool” and “compassionate.” He was edited in a more comical light by Bachelorette producers, who showed him talking to his plants.
