John Stamos ‘Heartbroken’: The Olsen Twins Not Coming To ‘Fuller House’

John Stamos is heartbroken over the latest Fuller House news. According to People Magazine, the actor shared his sadness over the news that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen will not appear in Fuller House. A Life & Style Weekly report had the twins signed on for the cast just last week, but it appears that the twins decided not to join the cast for the series that will arrive on Netflix next year.

The Fuller House reboot will feature Candance Cameron-Bure in her role of D.J. Tanner, a single mother struggling to raise her children after the death of her husband. Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber will reprise their roles as Stephanie Tanner and Kimmie Gibbler and move in to help D.J. raise her children. Stamos is set to return as Uncle Jesse. He has signed on to produce the series as well.

This plot is very similar to the plot of the original series. In the 1980s comedy, Uncle Jesse and Joey Gladstone, played by Dave Coulier, moved in to help Danny Tanner, played by Bob Saget, after his wife died. He was left with three girls to raise. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen played the youngest child, Michelle Tanner.

Stamos has been fighting for a reboot of the series for the last few years. When it aired originally on ABC, it was a highly popular series. Fans still watch repeats of the series that air in syndication. Stamos shared the sad news about the Olsen Twins not joining the series on his Twitter on Friday night.

According to Daily Mail, Robert Boyett, the executive producer of the series, shared his own statement about Ashley and Mary-Kate not joining Fuller House.

“Although Ashley and Mary-Kate will not be a part of Fuller House, I know how much ‘Full House’ has meant to them and they are still very much considered family. It has been exciting to see how they have built their professional careers, and I support their choice to focus on their fashion brands and various business endeavors.”

In recent years, the cast has reunited more than once. A television reunion happened on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. John Stamos brought Uncle Jesse and his band to the stage for a performance. Lori Loughlin joined him on stage after the stage. After that, Bob Saget and Dave Coulier joined Stamos for a Dannon Oikos commercial. It was during these reunions that Stamos worked to bring the series back to television.

However, not the entire cast was enthusiastic for the idea. In fact, Mary-Kate and Ashley are not the only ones not joining the Fuller House revival on Netflix. Bob Saget and Lori Loughlin have not signed officially for the Fuller House revival either.

After Stamos posted his tweets about the Olsen twins not joining the series, he posted more on his Facebook page.

“Just so you reporters know – this is not a money gig for any of us- quite the opposite – we want to give the fans what they deserve for supporting us for so many years- we all just want to have fun – do it in a classy way on Netflix and have a good time- sad that a few don’t share the rest of the cast’s opinion – i can only wish them the best.”

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen only learned of the Fuller House revival after John Stamos announced it on a Jimmy Kimmel appearance last month. They were asked about the revival after his appearance, and they admitted that they had no idea about it. They said that they were “going to talk to the creators and see what’s happening.”

It was after that appearance by the Olsen twins that reports surfaced about Ashley Olsen having Lyme disease. There is currently no cure for the illness, and Ashley is not having an easy time with it, according to Radar Online.

She was first diagnosed with the disease several years ago, and she is “struggling” with it. The most recent flare up the disease is affecting her day-to-day life, according to sources.

“[Ashley’s] really still struggling, but she’s been trying to get on a health kick by going to the gym and taking better care of herself.”

When the series was on the air, the producers behind the series wanted to fire one of the twins because they started to look different from each other as they aged. However, a previous Inquisitr report revealed that Stamos fought the Full House producers for the twins.

“Ashley Olsen almost got booted from the show after the girls started to grow up and audiences were able to tell them apart. John Stamos insisted both twins stay on the show due to their growing popularity.”

John Stamos did try to work his Uncle Jesse charm on the Olsen twins. According to Us Magazine, the actor revealed on his Twitter last month that he talked to Mary-Kate.

Could the second part of his tweet be referencing Ashley’s battle with Lyme disease? There is really no way to know for sure. What do you think about John Stamos being heartbroken over the Olsen twins not joining Fuller House? Do you plan to watch the series on Netflix? It will arrive on the media platform next year.
