Brian Hallisay: ‘Revenge’ Actor Moving Beyond Shadow Of Wife Jennifer Love Hewitt To Stake His Own Place In Hollywood

Brian Hallisay may be best known as husband to Jennifer Love Hewitt, but as the couple prepares for baby No. 2, the Revenge actor is starting to make a name for himself in Hollywood.

With a growing number of roles and a place on a popular television show, Hallisay has started to grow his stature in show business, a career that likely got a boost from his famous wife.

Hallisay actually played the husband to Hewitt on television long before the couple became an item. They starred together on the now-canceled show The Client List, and soon the relationship turned from professional to romantic. The couple started dating while still working on the show, and in 2013 welcomed their first child together.

“We’re so thrilled and happy to start a family,” Hewitt told Us Weekly.

In May of 2013, they got engaged, with Brian Hallisay proposing while vacationing in Europe.

It marked quite a turnaround for Jennifer Love Hewitt, who had been through a number of failed relationships including a broken engagement with Ross McCall.

“I think that I could be a really good wife,” she said in 2010. “I know that I love being able to give my love out to someone. I know there is somebody great out there for me.”

But Jennifer Love Hewitt has loved the role of being a wife and mother as well. In an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, she gushed about being a mom to daughter Autumn James.

“It’s really great. She smiles, she’s walking, she’s waddling like a little penguin, she’s an overachiever just like me. It’s terrifying. There’s gates everywhere that I trip over,” she shared.

The couple are now expecting their second child.

Brian Hallisay has slowly been building his stature in Hollywood, but he has sometimes been typecast. He had appearances in Strong Medicine, Body of Proof, and The Bionic Woman, playing a doctor each time.

He now has a part in the popular television show Revenge and has scored roles in some bigger movies as well. He appeared in the 2014 movie American Sniper, playing Capt. Gillespie. But most importantly, Hallisay has started to move beyond the shadow of his famous wife, and even gotten some press of his own for his role on Revenge.

But the most important role for Brian Hallisay is still a couple of weeks away. He is set to become a father again sometime in July when his wife, Jennifer Love Hewitt, is due with their second baby.
