WWE News: Updated Card And Rumored Matches For ‘Elimination Chamber’ – Spoiler For New Title Match, Chamber Participants
It was a mere week or so ago that WWE announced the Elimination Chamber would be coming back. Now, with one week to go until it happens, the card is already looking like one of the best of the year, so far. After the SmackDown tapings last night, one more title match has been added and you can check out the updated card below.
As soon as the Pay-Per-View’s return was announced, four matches were immediately revealed. There was no talk as to who would compete in them as they were unveiled before Payback took place, but now we know all the participants.
It was originally stated that the United States title would be on the line, but that appears to have changed. With Kevin Owens answering the challenge of John Cena, the NXT Champion doesn’t seem to want Cena’s belt.
King Barrett, Sheamus, and Dolph Ziggler were all expected to be in this match. The additions of Ryback and Rusev are good, but R-Truth’s involvement is kind of random. Still, this is looking to be a really good match for the vacated Intercontinental Title.
With Ziggler and Rusev in it, you can expect Lana to somehow get involved as well.
It’s good to see the Primetime Players back in action, but strange that the recently reunited Luke Harper and Erick Rowan were left out. Some originally thought this would be match with just three tag teams and six people, but it’s going to be jam-packed with 12 participants.
The included teams could really make this match steal the show, especially with the Lucha Dragons and Brass Ring Club.
Dean Ambrose officially got his shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Title thanks to Stephanie McMahon on Raw. Ambrose has been having great matches in the past few months with Luke Harper, Bray Wyatt, John Cena, and others. Now, it’s his turn against Seth Rollins and a title change isn’t out of the question.
With those four matches in place, WrestleZone did reveal that a new title match has been added to the card after the SmackDown tapings last night. Nikki Bella will defend the WWE Divs Championship against Naomi and Paige, who won a title shot in a battle royal in April.
That’s it, for now. Five matches are on the Elimination Chamber card, and it’s possible that maybe two more could be added. The total absence of the Wyatt Family is kind of strange, but rumors are swirling and there’s still time for more.
