24 Nebraska Huskers Baseball Players Get Stuck In Elevator
The Nebraska Cornhuskers, often referred to as just Huskers, are from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The university is a member of the Big Ten Conference, and the Cornhuskers compete in NCAA Division I. The conference tournaments are happening this week in Minnesota, and 24 members of the 25-man baseball team got stuck in an elevator, according to CBS Sports.
“The University of Nebraska baseball team is scheduled to play Illinois at Target Field on Wednesday.”
On Tuesday, 24 of the team members got stuck in an elevator together, presumably at the hotel where they were staying. Junior catcher Colton Howell tweeted about the 24 baseball players who were stuck in the elevator at the same time.

The team should have known elevators have a weight limit. Therefore, the 24 college baseball players shouldn’t have been surprised when the elevator got stuck with that many bodies packed inside a single elevator.
No one knows what gave the team the idea to cram into the elevator. Some speculated that the men might have been late for baseball practice. One person even joked that perhaps the hotel’s continental breakfast was about to close.
ThePostGame staff reported that smartphones were available to capture the elevator scene with 24 baseball players crowded inside.
Passenger elevators capacity is related to the available floor space. Generally, passenger elevators are available in capacities from 1,000-6,000 pounds, with 2,500 pounds being the average capacity.
Fortunately, no one was harmed in the crowded elevator. While stuck in the elevator, the men didn’t seem frightened. Perhaps it was because they did have access to the outside world with their smartphones.

Perhaps the men will think long and hard about making that decision again. The maintenance workers at the hotel might have warned them about trying that again while they are staying at the hotel.
When the baseball team is on the field playing Illinois, the 24 men will probably think of their experience and be thankful that being stuck in the elevator did not turn out to be a bad experience after all. At least, the men were all together. If one of them had been stuck in the elevator alone without a cell phone, perhaps the story would have a different ending.
