WWE News: ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin To Interview The Undertaker, Sting, And Hulk Hogan On Monthly WWE Network Podcast
During Sunday night’s WWE Payback pay-per-view, it was announced that “Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s podcast would be returning to the WWE Network on June 1, and that he would be interviewing Paul Heyman. Then, things got a bit more interesting, because on Monday, it was announced that Austin would be interviewing three other major names; Sting, Hulk Hogan, and — probably the most interesting one of the three — The Undertaker. It was also announced that Austin would be doing his podcast once a month on the WWE Network, and it’s likely that these podcasts will take place following the first RAW of each month, in an attempt to keep their new subscribers from cancelling.
As previously mentioned, The Undertaker is the most interesting of the three because, well, he just doesn’t do out-of-character interviews. As a matter of fact, one of the last out-of-character interviews The Undertaker did was in the early 2000s, when he was promoting WrestleMania 18 on TSN’s Off The Record with Michael Landsberg. That interview can be seen below.

For the last several months — despite denials from Steve Austin himself — it has seemed that there was a bit of tension between Austin and WWE. Many people believed that the tension lead to WWE replacing Austin’s podcast on the WWE Network with Chris Jericho’s podcast. There were also rumors that WWE replaced Austin with Jericho due to them not being happy with the questions that Austin asked his guests. However, Austin has dispelled that rumor.
Austin’s first two podcasts on the WWE Network featured Vince McMahon and Triple H. It was rumored that WWE wasn’t pleased with Austin bringing up TNA Wrestling during his interview with McMahon, and it was also rumored that WWE wasn’t happy about Austin bringing up the idea of Chyna being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame during his interview with Triple H.
Austin’s two podcasts on the WWE Network were much more well-received than Chris Jericho’s first two were, due to Austin asking the hard-hitting and tough questions, whereas Jericho’s were much more of a conversation, and less of a newsworthy interview.
As for Austin doing anything else for WWE, well, as always, it’s a mystery. There are plenty of people within WWE that believe that Austin will return to the ring, and have one more match in his home state of Texas at next year’s WrestleMania. However, like every year, an Austin return is still up in the air.
