‘Duck Dynasty’ Renewal: Show Reportedly Coming Back Soon For Season 8, Fans Rejoice

Duck Dynasty fans have been anxiously waiting for official news from the A&E network regarding Season 8 of the show, but things have been a bit quiet on that front. Despite some controversy and declining ratings over the past year or two, dedicated fans still love the Robertson family and are anxious for new episodes. Has A&E renewed Duck Dynasty for Season 8? It seems there is finally some news for fans on this front, and luckily it is good news for those supporting the show.

The A&E upfronts were held recently, though there was little more than a mention of Duck Dynasty according to Variety. It seems a brief shout-out is all the show got as the network focused on new shows it’s pulling together. Viewers were left hanging at the end of Season 7 waiting for renewal news, and it seems the official renewal flew under the radar a bit.

Over on the show’s Facebook page, it seems there is good news spreading about a Duck Dynasty renewal. As fans comment on the latest post about the show, asking when new episodes will begin, the page handlers are busy responding.

The comments reveal that a new season of Duck Dynasty is beginning on A&E soon, but a formal premiere date has not been announced as of yet. That is welcome news for worried fans, though everybody is anxious to know more.

So far, though, A&E hasn’t been spilling any details. Premiere dates of past seasons haven’t had a consistent pattern, though Season 6 did premiere in mid-June 2014 with Season 7 starting in November 2014. Fans are hopeful that perhaps a June premiere date for Season 8 is in the works and the network surely will announce something soon.

Duck Dynasty ratings have definitely taken a significant hit since the heyday of Seasons 3, 4, and 5, surely in large part due to patriarch Phil Robertson’s numerous controversial comments via speeches and the media. Despite the multiple controversies, those who love the show have stuck by the Robertson family and are anxious for more.

As Zap2It noted at the time of the Season 7 premiere, there are a number of factors that have likely impacted the declining Duck Dynasty ratings. Even with the drop, the show performs fairly well for a cable show and it seems A&E is still aiming to showcase more of the family and their antics.

While dedicated viewers would love to know more specifics about just when Season 8 will premiere and how many episodes will air, they’ll have to stay tuned for now. The good news is that after a lack of updates regarding new episodes, it seems that more Duck Dynasty is indeed on the way and the wait won’t be too much longer.
