According to recent reports, Angelina Jolie has been bonding with her newest gal pal Charlize Theron, and the two actresses are finding out that they have much more in common than they might have guessed. Apparently, Sean Penn and Brad Pitt have been close friends for years, and now that Penn’s relationship with Charlize Theron is getting closer, it seemed natural that Theron and Jolie should become acquainted.
“The guys have been tight for years and ever since Sean and Charlize became serious they’ve been spending a lot of time together as a foursome,” an inside source reported.
Aside from their Hollywood ambitions, both Angelina and Charlize are heavily involved in charity work, which has given them a strong foundation on which to build their budding friendship. Add to that the desire Jolie and Theron both have for adopting children and there seems to be no limit to the similarities between Charlize and Angelina.
Ms. Theron, born in South Africa, has an adopted son named Jackson, currently 3-years-old, and has expressed great admiration for Jolie for her enthusiasm for raising Maddox, 13, Pax, 11, Zahara, 10, Shiloh, and twins Knox, 8, and Vivienne, 6.
“The girls realised that they have a very similar outlook on life and quickly bonded over everything from their adopted children to their prospective Hollywood projects,” the same insider reported.
It seems that Angelina may even be interested in working with her new best friend on a future film project, if inside sources are correct. Marvel has been showing interest in casting Ms. Theron in the Captain Marvel role, their first female-led superhero film.
“Marvel has been courting Angie to direct the project and Charlize is a clear fan favourite for the starring role. If Charlize were to get the part, Angie would almost certainly sign on to work with her new pal.”
In the meantime, there are reports that Angelina has been so moved by her experiences as a UN ambassador and especially by her visits with Syrian Civil War refugees that Ms. Jolie is interested in adopting yet another child.
“[Angelina] has been moved to tears on several occasions over the plight of youngsters orphaned in the Syrian conflict… Now she has sorted out her health issues, she and Brad believe the time is right to adopt another orphan from there, most likely a daughter.”
This news comes after sources close to Ms. Jolie revealed that she and Pitt have been seeing a marriage counselor. Apparently, this new counselor, recommended by a close Pitt-Jolie friend, has become an integral component to working out their relationship. The sessions have “transformed the entire family dynamic,” according to sources.
“Angie said it’s been like falling in love with Brad again… It’s something they plan to do for the rest of their lives.”
