Patrick Dempsey’s Wife Jillian Fink Didn’t Leave Over ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Affair, Actor Denies Cheating Rumors
Patrick Dempsey’s wife, Jillian Fink, didn’t leave over an alleged fling. It was reported earlier that Dempsey was fired from Grey’s Anatomy because of an on-set affair he had with a much younger co-worker. Due to his fling, and butting heads with co-star Ellen Pompeo — who’s good friends with Patrick’s wife — it was said that creator Shonda Rhimes took matters into her own hands and fired Dempsey. To add insult to injury, upon hearing of this news, Fink filed for divorce.
Now Patrick Dempsey has denied these allegations through his rep. According to Gossip Cop, Dempsey’s rep said the story is “ridiculous.” Oddly enough, hours after In Touch reported on the story, it took the alleged affair accusations down after it got traction from other competing sites.
As the Inquisitr reported, a source told In Touch about Patrick Dempsey’s Grey’s Anatomy affair.
“Patrick had an inappropriate relationship with a young woman who worked on the set.”
The source went on to say that Dempsey’s co-star Ellen Pompeo “found out and was angry” and told Dempsey’s wife Jillian Fink.
The only breadcrumb of truth to this story is Dempsey’s marital troubles. Back in January, People Magazine reported that Jillian Fink had filed for divorce after 15 years of marriage. Prior to Fink filing for divorce, Dempsey did admit that he was being spread too thin, between his professional racing and his Grey’s Anatomy schedule. During a race in Daytona Beach, Florida, Dempsey opened up a bit about juggling his busy life.
“It would be nice to be one-pointed and not spread so thin sometimes. I think where I’m going is to really streamline and be much more specific in balancing things a little bit better than I have in the past.”
He continued, “I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have Grey’s run as long as it has. It’s been a tremendous gift, and it’s allowed all of this to happen. That’s been taking up a lot of time, and of course, you have a life off the track and your family and trying to balance that out and make that work and then focusing on the racing.”
As for that feud with Ellen Pompeo? Even though Pompeo never put out a statement after Dempsey left the series, he did tear up when Entertainment Weekly asked about working with Ellen Pompeo. He said they were in a “very good place.”
When asked about their chemistry that’s when he became emotional, saying, “It’s magic. It’s beautiful. We’re like a married couple. It’s been 10 years, and it was magic from the beginning.”
Doesn’t exactly sound like the two are on the outs at all.
