Women Spend 3 Hours a Week Re-Doing Chores Done… By Men

The battle of the sexes rages on! A survey says that while men are trying to do more to help out around the house, they’re really not doing so well at it.

That’s right, though men are stepping up more often to responsibilities in the domestic arena, it’s not really making things easier on the ladies. According to a survey of over 2,000 women in the UK, women spend up to three hours each week going back over the chores done by men so that they get done right. Chores done poorly by the oafish hands of men include: wiping the kitchen counter, plumping and arranging sofa cushions, making the bed, doing laundry, vacuuming, putting away dishes, clothes, and other things… well, pretty much everything, actually.

“Although it’s impossible for women to do everything themselves, they still have high hopes for perfection—and if jobs aren’t done to the desired standard by the partner, often many feel they could do better themselves,” says a spokesman for Sainsbury, the British retailer behind the survey.

However, women don’t do much to stand up for themselves either. At least half the time, women say that they don’t even bother nagging men to do a better job with the chores. They simply find it easier to just re-do them all on their own.

So boys, next time your girlfriend/wife/female roommate ask you to help out around the house, try to pay a little bit more attention and make sure the job gets done right. You know. Like a man.
