Jay-Z, Beyonce Spark Outrage On Twitter Following Baltimore, Ferguson Protester Bail-Out Reports
Jay-Z and Beyonce made headlines over the weekend after writer and social activist Dream Hampton spilled details about their questionable contributions to provide bail money for Ferguson and Baltimore protesters.
As previously reported on the Inquisitr, the affluent billion-dollar couple reportedly “wired tens of thousands of dollars to activists” involved in the Baltimore protests following the controversial death of 25-year-old Freddie Gray. It has also been reported that Beyonce has donated big dollars to the Black Lives Matter movement. Although Hampton tweeted the news, of course, those tweets were deleted almost immediately after being posted. But, of course, the statements didn’t go unnoticed because several news outlets snagged screenshots and reported about Hampton’s tweets. The shocking reports immediately sent the media into a frenzy, and now the backlash is quite evident.
According to Raw Story, an overwhelming number of social media users have taken the time to respond to the reports about the alleged Carter donations via Twitter. Needless to say, many aren’t pleased with Jay-Z and Beyonce’s support of protesters with arguments about the controversial message it sends.
Most have referred to arrested protesters as criminals who were probably apprehended for justifiable reasons. In a nutshell, many Twitter users have accused Jay-Z and Beyonce of contributing to civil unrest by providing monetary backing for the release of those who may have caused even more problems for law enforcement in the midst of chaos. Some of the remarks are quite brash, with a number of highly offensive racial slurs, while others are just shared expressions of frustration and outrage as the tweets continue to pour in.

In wake of the social media outrage, Dream Hampton has also voiced her opinion in defense of Jay-Z and Beyonce. Although she removed the tweets that revealed details about the couple’s contributions, she later returned with a brief statement explaining why she commended the Carters for their efforts.

Although the allegations have yet to be confirmed or denied, it’s probably safe to say there won’t be a detailed explanation or confirmation regarding the report. For those who haven’t noticed, Jay-Z and Beyonce rarely respond to public speculation where their personal lives are concerned. Last year, Jay-Z and Beyonce sparked a media firestorm following the 2014 Met Gala when he was involved in a physical altercation inside an elevator with his sister-in-law Solange. Although they did release a public joint statement, no details about the shocking incident were shared.
