New Garbage Cat Game ‘Wakes Me Up’
A new 8-bit game, My Garbage Cat Wakes Me Up at 3AM Every Day, uses hilarious cat behavior to provide hours of simple entertainment. Will Herring, the creator from Queens, shared his new gaming creation on Twitter a few days ago.

Sounding excited, Herring noted the fun in being “the worst” as a cat in what seems to be a game modeled after his own cat.
The game’s objective is very simple — the cat must wake up the human. It involves typical kitty cuteness from meowing in the middle of the night to knocking items off of shelves. Players can play Herring’s My Garbage Cat Wakes Me Up at 3AM Every Day online.
The Mary Sue reviewed the game by comparing it to Catlateral Damage, but also explaining that it is on a much smaller grey scale. Although the game’s simplicity and cute factor seem consistent.
The human in the game is supposed to be “lazy” and a funny rendition of a pet owner who hates waking up in the middle of the night to a pet’s whims. In this case, the whims are from a pesky cat. The human is not asking for a musical type of interruption like in “Wake Me Up” by Avicii! The cat is a bit of a nuisance with persistent attempts to disturb the human’s sleep in the game.
Using fun game prompts, Herring’s new online game urges the user to “bump and jump into things to knock them over.”
Paired with a simple cat animation, another game command encourages the gamer to “press Z to meow and cry all the time.”
Although the game seems to poke fun in a mean way at kitties everywhere, including a “press X to knead your dumb little paws,” it’s clear that the hilarious accuracy of the game’s cat scenario will be an online gaming hit.
