Janet Jackson Back On Tour With New Music
Janet Jackson is coming back to the music scene in a big way this year. The more famous sister of the King of Pop just celebrated her birthday on Saturday, May 16, and she’s giving her fans the gift.
The announcement came yesterday on Twitter, as the singer released a video that momentarily tore us away from our everyday lives. The promise of new music has the internet more excited than Janet’s wardrobe malfunction at the Super Bowl in 2009.
Janet’s music already spans decades, beginning alongside brother Michael, yet not as one of the Jackson 5. The youngest sibling in the family, her sounds range from heartfelt ballads to pop hits that ooze attitude. At the age of 49, it remains to be seen if the sizzle will still be there, reminiscent of hits like “Black Cat” and “Nasty.”
Janet Jackson is going all the way with her new music, not only releasing a new album, which it appears she’s already working on, but taking it on a world tour.
The iconic pop singer had faded from the spotlight for a while after releasing Discipline and then marrying Wissam Al Mana, a Qatari businessman, in 2012. She’s had a while to adjust to the married life outside the public eye and possibly come to peace with the loss of her brother.
The “Miss You Much” singer posted the video yesterday in which she answered the prayers of fans who have been missing her the last few years.
“I promise you’d hear it from my lips and now you will. This year: New music; new world tour; a new movement. I’ve been listening. Let’s keep the conversation going.”
In case we didn’t believe her, Janet filmed the video inside a recording studio, undoubtedly between songs.
