Britain’s Youngest Mother Gave Birth At 12 After Being Raped By Brother, Trying To Get Her Life Together Now

Tressa Middleton was 12 when she had her baby as the result of being raped by her brother. She was attacked by him at the tender age of 11. She gave up her baby, which led her to spiral into a world of drink and drugs as a youngster. At 21, she is now trying to get her life back on track after a troublesome past, according to METRO.

Her mother had been homeless and she was cared for by others in foster care. But she was sent back to live with her family when she was 11. Her brother Jason was 16-years-old then and was also sent back to live with his family. Tressa indicated that she trusted her brother, and he even attended a birthday party she had while in foster care. But then her life was turned upside down. She lived through a horrific attack by her brother, which is when she became pregnant.

At first, she didn’t realize that she was pregnant. A friend told her that she might be pregnant and, when tested, the result was positive. She was against abortion and stated the following, according to METRO.

“It was my friend who said I might be pregnant. She got me aside one day and said, ‘You might be pregnant’ but I tried deny it. My friend told my auntie, that I was pregnant and my auntie said I better hide. My mum was in the bath but she ran out after me in her towel into the street.”

She hid the identity of the baby’s father until after the baby was born and Tressa was drunk. She confided in a friend. After baby Annie was born, Tressa found it difficult to cope and became hooked on drugs and alcohol. Annie was put up for adoption. Jason was jailed for four years after DNA tests established that he was the father. He has since been released. Tressa said the following, according to METRO.

“I hope she [Annie] understands. I’ll leave it up to her but I hope she does forgive me….You are the beating pulse of life. In the cupboard I still keep your clothes from when you were a wee baby. For now I want you to know I love you and I always will.”

Tressa has written a book, a heart-rending account of her life entitled Tressa: The Twelve Year Old Mum. She dedicated the book to Annie and stated the following, according to the Daily Mail.

“I just hope one day she does forgive me. I know it’s going to be hard for her when she finds out her uncle is actually her dad. I hope she doesn’t blame me for not telling people what actually happened when it happened and for drinking and going off the rails. I hope she understands. I’ll leave it up to her but I hope she does forgive me.”

Not all mothers care as much about their baby as Tressa seems to care about the baby she put up for adoption. Alicia Keir, 24, of DeMotte, Indiana, pleaded guilty to an involuntary manslaughter charge in federal court. What did she do? Horrifically, she admitted to giving birth on a Caribbean cruise ship and leaving the baby girl to die under a bed. In October, 2011, Keir gave birth in her stateroom. She wrapped the baby in a towel and hid her under the bed. She knew that she was pregnant and did not tell her travel companions. She also knew the baby was born alive, according to an article in the Inquisitr.
