Josiah Duggar’s Girlfriend Wears Pants In Date Photos: Marjorie Jackson Isn’t Following Duggar Dress Code
Josiah Jackson’s girlfriend isn’t following Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s strict dress code. So will Marjorie Jackson continue to defy their rules, or will the 17-year-old trade her jeans for knee-covering jean skirts whenever she inevitably marries into the Duggar family?
According to the International Business Times, Josiah Duggar and Marjorie Jackson are still a courting couple, and they recently went on a date with a massive number of chaperones — a large portion of the Duggar family joined them for a fun-filled trip to the Silver Dollar City amusement park in Branson, Missouri.
Josiah shared a cute snapshot from the trip on his Instagram page, and 19 Kids and Counting fans are slightly freaking out about it. However, it’s not because Josiah and Marjorie make such adorable “malcontents” while posing in a pillory.
“She’s wearing pants!!” one commenter wrote.
“Refreshing to see her not so modest looking,” another fan commented. “Looks like a happy person — not an obligated woman.”
Numerous other fans applauded Marjorie Jackson for wearing pants, but others didn’t understand why everyone was freaking out over her fashion choice.
“Omg pant are pants why the poop is everyone freaking out about it?!” once of Josiah Duggar’s followers wrote.
Josiah shared a second photo of his girlfriend and her skinny jeans, and it looks like he’s doing his best James Bond impression while holding a fake gun. However, it’s unlikely that he’s ever seen a 007 movie since the Duggars are only allowed to watch religious films and carefully-selected episodes of The Andy Griffith Show.
“On The Flooded Mine ride at Silver Dollar City a couple days ago with my family and the Jacksons!” Josiah captioned the photo below.
None of the Duggar daughters wear pants, so many 19 Kids and Counting fans likely assumed that Marjorie would start following the family dress code now that she’s joining the show. However, it looks like she’s pulling a cousin Amy by doing her own thing. As the Inquisitr previously reported, Amy Duggar has made it very clear that her uncle isn’t going to control her, and she refuses to follow Jim Bob’s strict rules about dressing and dating. Because of this, Amy has stated that she can “get under his skin.”
In a 2013 TLC blog, Michelle Duggar explained why she and her daughters only wear skirts that cover their knees.
“After I was born again and became a Christian, I really began to cover up,” Michelle wrote. “I felt like the Lord was saying to me, you know what, you probably shouldn’t be wearing that. It’s a little bit low cut, or a little bit too high, you know.”
Michelle explained that she decided to start wearing skirts and dresses because she felt that they defined her as a woman.
“Interestingly, Jim Bob and I had a conversation at that point and I said to him, I really feel like the Lord is impressing upon me that I should be modest in what I wear. And also, that I really should be defining who I am as a woman by choosing to wear dresses and skirts.”
There’s no word on how Michelle feels about Marjorie’s pants, but she and Jim Bob carefully chose the photo of Josiah and Marjorie that they posted on the Duggar Family Facebook page. As you can see, her jeans aren’t visible.
They also shared a photo of the entire family enjoying a trolley ride together.
According to Babble, Anna Duggar used to wear pants and swimsuits before she married Josh, but she gave them up after she married into the Duggar family. If Marjorie and Josiah make it to the altar, she might also toss her trousers.
Do you think Josiah Duggar’s girlfriend will give up her skinny jeans? Even if Marjorie Jackson gives up her pants, she’ll probably be the one wearing the pants in their relationship — judging from the way she stole the spotlight from Josiah in their courtship announcement video, she’s certainly no shrinking violet.
