WWE Rumors: ECW Originals Could Show Up At NXT’s Live Event Tonight In Philadelphia
NXT held an event in Philadelphia on Thursday night, and it was for a sold out crowd in the heart of ECW country — aka “the birthplace of hardcore.” A number of big names were in attendance, including Triple H, Mick Foley, and Joey Styles. With Styles being there, he may end up bringing some ECW originals with him for tonight’s event as Baron Corbin is making trouble.
During the event on Thursday, Baron Corbin defeated Rhyno as their set-up for their match at NXT Takeover: Unstoppable next week. After the match was when the trouble started, and ECW came into the picture.
Joey Styles was sitting at ringside, and Corbin approached him after the match. That was when he told him to “dig up another ECW relic” since he beat Rhyno, and he did it on Twitter too.
Look very hard & dig up the best relic you can. I am going to bury him and the memories of #ECW forever. #NXTPhilly https://t.co/bJmRzgq03u

With that threat in place, rumors began flying as to what could happen at NXT’s second straight event in Philadelphia. ECW names have been thrown around already, and WrestleZone reported that Styles even said he would act as a manager for the first time in his life. Joey Styles started searching for help.
Last tweet before I go to sleep. I need an #ECW Original to fight @BaronCorbinWWE tonight at #NXTPhilly night 2. Volunteers? @WWENXT @WWE

Joey Styles joked about Taz but said he is retired. The same thing was said when someone suggested getting Mickey Foley in the ring to take on Baron Corbin. As of early on Friday afternoon, Styles was still looking for help from an ECW original.
To recap, last night @BaronCorbinWWE beat @Rhyno313 and challenged me to find another #ECW Original for night 2 of #NXTPhilly tonight. Help!

No-one seems to know who Styles could end up finding to help him out. One name being thrown around is Tommy Dreamer, and the crowd in Philadelphia would certainly lose it over him appearing in NXT.
Another name being thrown around on social media is that of someone who recently left TNA, and that’s Bully Ray. He did recently tease that he had some plans coming up, and he wanted to see what was “NXT,” but that may have been more a plea to WWE than anything.
Joey Styles desperately needs help from an ECW original, and he needs it by the time the sold out NXT Live event begins in Philadelphia tonight. Baron Corbin is on the hunt for Styles, and someone hardcore and extreme is needed to help him out – who could it be?
