Jana Duggar Demands Payment For Her Hard Work, She And Jill Are No Longer Midwife Apprentices
If Jana Duggar is going to be her family’s Cinderella, she wants her own carriage.
According to a recent report in the print edition of OK! Magazine, Jana Duggar is trying to take one small step toward becoming an independent woman by acquiring her own set of wheels. As the Inquisitr previously reported, the 25-year-old 19 Kids and Counting star has been dubbed “Cinderella Duggar” because she lives at home and works as her parents’ live-in nanny/maid.
Because Jana works so hard and has so little independence, she allegedly thinks that the least her parents could do for her is to buy her a car — she could use it to escape the Duggar compound whenever she needs to run errands.
According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, an inside source told OK! that Jana is sick of being stuck at home because she doesn’t have a vehicle to call her own.
“The family shares four SUV’s but if they are all in use Jana finds herself stuck. She let her parents know that she wants her own car, it’s the least they could do considering how much she helps out around the house.”
It’s important to note that OK! isn’t always accurate with its Jana Duggar stories. The tabloid once tried to claim that Jana was leaving 19 Kids and Counting to go to college, but she’s still at the Duggar compound taking care of her siblings. Duggar daughters are expected to stay at home until they’re married off, but so far no guy has caught Jana’s eye.
Celeb Dirty Laundry points out that Jana can’t save up money to buy her own car because she doesn’t have a real job, but E! News recently reminded 19 Kids and Counting fans that she and younger sister Jill Duggar were once training to become midwives. The website shared a video clip that showed the girls putting their midwife skills to the test by helping their show’s coordinating producer deliver her baby during the Duggars’ 2013 trip to China.
According to a 2013 post on the Duggar Family Blog, Jill and Jana were once apprentices for a lay midwife named Venessa Giron. Users on the Free Jinger website recently alleged that Venessa’s midwife license was revoked likely because the Arkansas Department of Health found her negligent after she delivered a baby “who developed group b strep and nearly died in February, 2014.” Because Venessa was supervising Jill and Jana, they allegedly lost their apprenticeship permits. The Duggar girls and Giron currently aren’t listed on the Arkansas Department of Health directory of Licensed Lay Midwifes and Lay Midwife Apprentices.
It’s possible that Jana Duggar was only working as an apprentice to be Jill’s “accountability partner,” so maybe she was never really interested in becoming a licensed midwife. There’s also a chance Jill chose not to pursue a career as midwife after becoming a mom.
Do you think Jana Duggar will ever have a car and career of her own?
