Josh Duggar Underage Sex Scandal: ’19 Kids And Counting’ Star Allegedly Named In Police Report

Josh Duggar allegedly did something terrible when he was a teen, according to a recent report. However, he majorly lucked out, and his parents are likely thanking God that the 19 Kids and Counting star isn’t being shunned by the fans who worship the Duggar family.

In Touch Weekly alleges that Josh Duggar “was named in a police report as the ‘alleged offender’ in an underage sexual abuse probe.” It’s important to point out that In Touch didn’t provide any documentation of this probe, instead citing “multiple sources who have seen the police report and are familiar with the case.”

The police report allegedly said that Josh was turned into the police by his own father, Jim Bob Duggar. Jim Bob told the cops that his then-minor son was caught leaving an underage girl’s bedroom, and Josh potentially could have been charged with sexual assault in the fourth degree, a Class A misdemeanor. According to the Arkansas Coalition Against Sexual Assault, a person commits sexual assault in the fourth degree by engaging in “sexual contact with another person, not the person’s spouse, who is less than sixteen (16) years of age.” Josh was likely 17 years old when the alleged conduct took place.

No details were provided about the identity of the underage girl Josh Duggar is accused of “inappropriately touching,” but most 19 Kids and Counting fans know that the Duggars have a big problem with premarital sexual contact of any kind, no matter the age of the parties involved. There’s also no word on whether the girl’s parents wanted to pursue any charges against Josh.

Josh Duggar avoided potentially being prosecuted because it was discovered that the cop who took the police report was in possession of child pornography. By the time Josh’s case started getting attention again, the statute of limitations was up. This means that he could no longer be prosecuted. In other words, Josh wasn’t ever charged with anything. Jim Bob Duggar has never spoken about this incident, and it seems as though he never bothered pursuing legal action after initially turning his son in.

Many 19 Kids and Counting fans look up to the Duggars as inspiring examples of what Christians should be. However, according to the Daily Beast , the family follows the teachings of controversial figures like Vision Forum Ministries president Doug Phillips and former Institute in Basic Life Principles (IBPL) leader Bill Gothard. Phillips resigned from Vision Forum Ministries after admitting to an extramarital affair that possibly involved sexual abuse, and Gothard gave up his leadership position after multiple women accused him of sexual abuse.

As the Daily Beast points out, the teachings of these men “embrace extreme forms of female submission,” so it’s not surprising that some of them have tried to take advantage of their powerful positions by mistreating women.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Josh Duggar is the executive director of Family Research Council Action , the political arm of the Family Research Council (FRC). The Southern Poverty Law Center lists the FRC as a hate group. Josh’s role involves “ promoting family values ,” and his idea of doing this includes leading anti-gay marriage rallies . According to GoodAsYou.org, Josh thinks that LGBT men and women are seeking “ special rights ” by fighting for the right to get married.

Do you believe the latest allegations about Josh Duggar, or is it possible that someone is fabricating stories about the 19 Kids and Counting star?
