Vicki Gunvalson’s Collapse In ‘Real Housewives Of Orange County’ Season 10 Trailer Was Very Real

Vicki Gunvalson collapsed on the set of Real Housewives of Orange County in February, and it wasn’t for show. The incident was captured on camera and broadcast on live TV in the trailer for the show’s tenth season.

For fans of the reality TV actress, this doesn’t mean she’s suffering from any crippling ailments. The reason behind the collapse was very different, but just as real to her.

After the incident was caught on film, Bravo decided to include it as a teaser of what’s to come. Such a thing is much more likely to get the audience engaged than simply using what they had planned. Reality TV is known for taking the most dramatic elements of everyday life and using them to generate excitement for the audience. Gunvalson appears to be taking it well, despite the reason behind the incident.

The real reason for Vicki Gunvalson’s collapse was revealed while in the middle of entertaining several guests in the kitchen, when she received a phone call. During the phone call, she cried and fell to the floor.

The last remaining original member of Real Housewives of Orange County was floored by something completely unscripted. Gunvalson had been told by a relative that her mother died.

After Meghan King Edmonds’ biting words about her being “an old woman who’s pissed off and bitter,” according to National Ledger, this will add some pressure that Gunvalson wasn’t expecting to deal with.

Shortly after Vicki Gunvalson’s very real collapse, the reality TV star released an homage to her mother.

“Tonight I received a phone call that is every person’s worst nightmare. My amazing, beautiful and strong mother passed on and is now with the love of her life my father in heaven. I am who I am today, because of her. An amazing cook, organized, bold personality and had a sense of style and fashion that I adored. I miss you so much mommy! My life will never be the same without you to give me advice and your wisdom. You were so healthy and so vibrant and so beautiful. I still need you. I love you MOM.”

It’s unknown how the producers are planning to work the terrible news into the show, since they decided to include Vicki Gunvalson’s collapse in the trailer. She seems to be taking it well though, continuing her usual activities in the wake of this personal tragedy.
