Naomi Watts Killed It At Cannes
Naomi Watts stopped traffic at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival, an event packed with veteran actors and starlets alike armed to the teeth with designer garb to help promote themselves and their films.
The 46-year-old actress graced the red carpet in a gray and silver Elie Saab Couture gown featuring a sequined top with open back and plunging neckline, and a full-length feathered skirt and train. Watts accented the gown with swept back hair and a heavy silver and diamond Bulgari necklace.
“I always want to own them of course!” Naomi Watts said of the borrowed jewels in an interview with The New York Times. “It’s not easy to hand them back the next day. But I would be too scared to wear such amazing pieces anywhere else in my day-to-day life off the red carpet.”
Watts wasn’t the only one who got the chance to enjoy the gown. Watt’s stylist posted a picture on Instagram of Watts and her sons relaxing in and on the feathery garment.
Watts made her spectacular appearance at Cannes in support of Sea of Trees, a soon to be released Gus Van Sant film starring Watts, Matthew McConaughey, and Ken Watanabe. The first clip of Sea of Trees was just recently released as it was selected to compete for the Palme d’Or at Cannes. Sea of Trees was recently purchased by Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions according to Aceshowbiz.

Though in Cannes for Sea of Trees, Naomi Watts has another project on tap, and one around the bend.
In theaters now, Naomi Watts stars alongside Ben Stiller in While We’re Young. Josh (Ben Stiller) is married to Cornelia (Naomi Watts) who are facing somewhat of a mid-life crisis together as they begin to feel inadequate watching all of their friends move forward starting families.
Josh meets an admirer of his work, Jamie (Adam Driver), after a lecture, and soon Josh and Cornelia are re-living their youth vicariously through Jamie and his girlfriend Darby (Amanda Seyfried).
Naomi Watts will also be starring in the thriller Shut In with Oliver Platt. Watts plays a mother who discovers a terrible secret about her catatonic son. Shut In is scheduled to hit theaters in February, 2016.
