Did Vicki Gunvalson’s Boyfriend Brooks Ayers Lie About His Cancer Diagnosis On ‘RHOC?’
Vicki Gunvalson’s boyfriend, Brooks Ayers, was accused of lying about his cancer diagnosis during the recently-released trailer for The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 10.
“Who would fake cancer?!” Heather Dubrow was heard saying in the clip, according to a May 13 report by Radar Online.
While it was previously thought Dubrow was insinuating that Vicki Gunvalson had lied, another member of the cast suggested Ayers had lied to his girlfriend about his diagnosis in an effort to gain sympathy or make her stay with him.
Earlier this year, Radar Online reported that Ayers was “battling Stage 3 Non-Hodgkin lymphoma, specifically diffuse large B cell lymphoma,” and claimed he was diagnosed with the disease in fall of 2013.
“I am sick. I do feel bad, but it’s mind over matter a lot of times. You gotta stay the course.”
Just two months ago, Vicki Gunvalson’s boyfriend revealed he had undergone six months of chemotherapy, but sadly, it didn’t seem to be helping. During the same time period, Ayers was forced to restrict his diet substantially, consuming mainly liquids.
Moving forward, Vicki Gunvalson’s boyfriend was given a couple of options, an “aggressive form of chemotherapy,” which would include three or four days of treatment each week every three weeks for at least four months, or a stem cell transplant. Either way, there were no guarantees he would be rid of the disease.
In addition to Vicki Gunvalson being by her man’s side since the diagnosis, their co-star Shannon Beador has also been helpful.
“Shannon Beador’s been very much in our corner and putting us in contact with a lot of unbelievable world-renowned holistic physicians based here in Irvine (California). We’re exploring that and with that would come no chemo. It would be addressing and taking what I’ve been doing with the holistic diet and an infrared sauna.”
Ayers also applauded Vicki Gunvalson for her ongoing support.
“She keeps me up and going and it’s been good rather than just routine, monotonous life — that’s not what we’re about. So it’s been very good from that perspective.”
Speaking to Radar Online himself, Vicki Gunvalson’s boyfriend claimed the rumors of his fake diagnosis were “unsubstantiated claims” made to “harm others’ reputations.”
As the Inquisitr previously reported, Vicki Gunvalson responded to her co-stars’ allegations on Twitter after the trailer was released.
