Noah Galloway Heads To ‘DWTS’ Finals, Fans Say Pity Votes Saved Him From Elimination
Noah Galloway is heading to the Dancing With the Stars finals, despite rumors that he would be eliminated on the Week 9 live results show. Host Tom Bergeron announced in the final minutes of the show that Nastia Liukin and her dance partner Derek Hough were eliminated from the competition.
Dancing With the Stars host Tom Bergeron announced in the beginning of Tuesday’s live results show that Noah was in jeopardy, and Buddy TV‘s John Kubicek predicted after Monday night’s semifinals that barring a shocking upset, Galloway would be sent home.
For those who were expecting Noah to leave, it was indeed a shocking upset, with some DWTS fans tweeting that the votes he received were “pity votes.”
If it were a heroic-inspirational-amazing-person competition, Noah would win. But it’s a DANCE competition! Stop the pity votes!! #DWTS

Poor Nastia…She was top 3…Noah is a great guy but IS NOT top 3…Pity votes at it’s finest…It’s about the dancing now at this stage.

Galloway, 33, hovered around the bottom of the leaderboard throughout the season. While some may think he made it to the finals with the help of pity votes, it was his can-do attitude that carried him to a big victory on Tuesday night.
The former U.S. Army solider lost his left arm above the elbow, and his left leg above the knee during the Iraq War, but that hasn’t stopped him from giving his all on ABC’s popular ballroom dance competition.
It’s been a great week for Noah, despite the fact that he was at the bottom of the leaderboard on Monday night with a total score of 66. Tuesday night’s live results show opened with a replay of Noah’s proposal to his girlfriend, Jamie. Galloway popped the question on Monday night after performing the Viennese Waltz with his partner, Sharna Burgess.
The proposal was an emotional one, with just about everyone tearing up after he got down on one knee, including the judges, cast and co-hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews.

Noah will join Rumer Willis and Riker Lynch at next week’s finale, with the final three competing for a special 14-karat-gold-plated Season 20 mirror ball trophy. Finals week begins with a one-hour show on Monday, May 18 at 8 p.m. ET, followed by the live finale results show on May 19 at 9 p.m. ET.
