TV5MONDE USA’s Program Schedule Honors Cannes Film Festival 2015 All Month
TV5MONDE USA is currently celebrating the 2015 Cannes Film Festival and is offering up daily interviews with international celebrities in L’invité, along with a selection of films that have been recognized at the Cannes Film Festival. This exciting Cannes-related programming will last the entire month of May. TV5Monde USA has been recognizing the Cannes Film Festival since Sunday, according to their website.
The 68th Annual Cannes Film Festival will offer a variety of action and romance movies. The action flicks will include Jesus of Montreal, aka Jésus de Montréal, “a unique tale about a group of actors giving their own satirical twist to the life of Jesus Christ while offending the Catholic church.”
Another exciting action film includes Age of Uprising: The Legend of Michael Kohlhaa, “a revolutionary account of an army of peasants who have decided to overthrow every lawless aristocrat in their kingdom; and A Man Escaped, a war thriller about a Nazi prisoner who secretly plans his escape from prison to avoid execution.”
TV5Monde USA viewers who are more inclined to watch romance flicks can tune in for Geronimo, a movie about forbidden love that exists between Nil, a gypsy, and Lucky, a girl of Turkish descent who fall in love despite the fact that they belong to two different ethnic groups and whose forbidden relationship has caused great controversy and war between the families.
Another movie that has been recognized at the Cannes Festival is My Favorite Season, also known as Ma Saison Préférée, starring the lovely Catherine Deneuve as Emilie, a woman who has been estranged from her brother but seeks to reunite with him as they cope with their mother’s illness. It is a story about the importance of family and coming together in times of need.
If movies aren’t your thing, then check out the Roland Garros French Open, which will be showing on TV5Monde USA. The Roland Garros French Open is one of the most well-known tennis tournaments in the world, and it will be taking place from May 24 to June 7. TV5Monde USA fans can watch up to two games per day starring their favorite tennis players such as Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Roger Federer. Commentators will talk about the games in French.
