Kylie Jenner Lip Challenge: How To Really Get The Teen’s Signature Pout

The Kylie Jenner Lip Challenge is still going strong, despite the teen’s attempts to stop her fans from partaking in the dangerous new viral trend. YouTube personality Troye Sivan created a video mocking the challenge.

The Australian singer and video logger created his own Kylie Jenner Challenge by including a safer version of the challenge that everyone can partake in. The 19-year-old shows fans how they can create Kylie Jenner’s signature pout with a little Photoshop. However, he wanted to show the ugly side of the viral challenge.

How did he do it? Sivan uses the liquefy tool to plump up his pout. He also added shares of purple and dark blue to create the illusion of bruising around the mouth, which was a common result from the Kylie Jenner challenge. The Internet entertainer also added a cut in the center of his bottom lips to make it look gross and realistic.

The 17-year-old addressed the dangerous challenge after thousands of teens attempted to inflate their lips with milk bottles and shot glasses. Jenner took to Twitter to encourage her fans to be themselves.

“I’m not here to try & encourage people/young girls to look like me or to think this is the way they should look.”

“I want to encourage people/young girls like me to be YOURSELF & not be afraid to experiment w your look (sic).”

The Kylie Jenner Challenge started trending on social media last month. It encouraged teens to compete with each other by sharing photos of their “enlarged” pouts on Instagram and Twitter. The challenge created its share of gruesome and gory images that came out of the viral sensation.

Kylie Jenner also made headlines when she admitted that her signature pout is from temporary fillers rather than actual lip liner.

There’s an even safer and better way to get Kylie Jenner’s signature lips without the use of Photoshop, fillers, or glass bottles. The best way to get fuller lips is to fake it with makeup.

The most important step is to exfoliate your lips. Scrubbing away dead skin cells will help make your lipstick stay on longer. It also brings blood to the surface, making your lips appear bigger, even if it’s temporary.

Draw an arch above your natural cupid’s bow. You can use a liner that’s in a shade close to your natural skin tone or a shade darker. Only overline the top and bottom of your mouth. Use an even dark lip liner to overemphasize the natural lines in your mouth.

When it comes to lipstick, choose a matte color. Shimmery or glittery lipsticks can cause light to bounce off the natural contours of your lip line, creating attention to your contouring. An opaque or matte lipstick will detract from the lines and create a realistic look.
