Michelle Obama Does Letterman
New York City, New York- “The Late Show” with David Letterman aired on Monday night with a very important guest, First Lady Michelle Obama. Rumor has it she did not disappoint.
David Letterman and Obama were joking around for a good portion of the interview and the First Lady charmed the heck out of the late night host.
Michelle told Letterman she has, more than once, provoked a security meltdown among her protectors with the Secret Service by saying she is going to sneak out of the white house.
She told Letterman,
“I do it all the time. I said ‘I’m walking out that door, I’m walking out. I’m leaving!'”
Joking aside, Mrs. Obama has managed to maintain a semblance of a normal life by venturing out incognito for shopping trips. “I’ve been to Target, I’ve been to Petco …” she said
Letterman was able to get some really good one liners into the conversation as well. He got Michelle talking about the family dog Bo and while she was talking about the dog’s exploits Letterman jumped in saying,
“Is this what Biden does?”
Michelle then went on to pay homage to her parents. She talked about how they taught her that the most important thing in parent’s arsenal is love.
She said,
“absolute, complete, unconditional love. The notion that kids really don’t need anything but to know that their parents adore them.”
Then, lightening the suddenly sincere mood, she joked, “Don’t make me cry! This isn’t ‘Oprah’!”
