Ramona Singer’s Divorce From Mario Is Taking Its Toll On ‘RHONY’ Star

Ramona Singer has been reportedly acting out of character as of late, and according to a May 12 report by the New York Daily News, it’s because of the Real Housewives of New York City‘s ongoing divorce from her estranged husband, Mario.

“[Ramona Singer] is temporarily disabled, but when she gets a new guy, she will go back to who she is,” a longtime pal explained. “Don’t we all?”

“At the end of the day, she is too old to learn how to be a new person. She is, and always will be, Ramona.”

Ramona Singer and Mario were married for over two decades when reports surfaced, claiming Mario was having an affair with the much-younger Kasey Dexter, a fitness instructor and socialite in New York City. Although Ramona Singer filed for divorce in January of last year after reportedly discovering Mario and Dexter together, she eventually took Mario back and attempted to mend their marriage. Then, in the summer of 2014, Ramona Singer discovered her husband was once again in contact with his mistress, and the pair parted ways for good.

Following their break up, Mario has reportedly been doing everything he can to get his hands on as much of Ramona Singer’s money and property as he can. According to the New York Daily News‘ insider, Mario’s behavior led Ramona Singer to refrain from lending her name to AOA Bar & Grill in Tribeca, a restaurant she invested a “small amount” in.

“This season’s launch party was at the restaurant, and Ramona spent the evening stressing that she was just ‘involved’ with the space, and make sure not to report that she was a partner. She doesn’t want her ex getting a piece of the restaurant too.”

The pal also revealed Ramona Singer is back in touch with her former on-screen nemesis, Jill Zarin.

“They had a very difficult period, but when an old pal is down, you don’t kick them.”

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Zarin reportedly witnessed Ramona Singer’s husband cheating on her while at a party in The Hamptons. However, after her friend, Patti Stanger, revealed the news on her Podcast, Ramona Singer denied her husband had been caught by her former friend, and the women engaged in a war of words on Twitter.
