Ellie Goulding To Appear As Destructa X In Taylor Swift’s ‘Bad Blood’ Video
Ellie Goulding is among the most recent celebrities to be added to the line up of stars expected to appear in Taylor Swift’s newest music video, which she’s supposed debut at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards.
According to Swift’s Instagram, the video for her song “Bad Blood” features more than just Goulding. In fact, Ellie is just one of a whole slew of stars who will have cameos in the video. Other celebs expected to appear include Lily Aldridge, Zendaya, Lena Dunham, Hailee Seinfeld, Hayley Williams, Kendrick Lamar, and Gigi Hadid.
Ellie Goulding and each of her celebrity counterparts will have alter egos, according to the photos posted on Swift’s Instagram account. Goulding will appear as Destructa X.

According to Swift, Goulding and the other celebrities playing roles in the “Bad Blood” music video had the opportunity to choose their names themselves. Goulding came up with Destructa X, while Gigi Hadid decided to call herself Slay-Z, for example.

While Swift has been busy promoting the upcoming video, Ellie Goulding has said very little on the topic, instead remaining silent about “Bad Blood” on both Instagram and Twitter. The “Bad Blood” singer just began promoting the characters on Twitter and Instagram on Sunday, so perhaps Ellie Goulding will have more to say on the topic in the future.
“Bad Blood” is the fourth single scheduled to be released from Taylor’s 1989 album, and the song is rumored to be about the relationship between Katy Perry and Swift. The appearance of Goulding in the video seems a bit odd when you consider that, just a few years ago, Goulding and Perry were often seen hanging together all over the world. In fact, in 2014, Buzzworthy called Ellie Goulding and Perry BFFs.
But remember, Perry and Swift used to be friends too, until Perry allegedly did something to offend the country-turned-pop star.
Regardless of where loyalties lie, it’s clear that Swift and Ellie Goulding are lining up on the same team. The Telegraph called Goulding’s friendship with the “Bad Blood” singer “blossoming.”
“When Ellie Goulding presented Swift with the gong for Best International Female, she did so saying, ‘the winner is… someone I’m so proud to call my friend, Taylor Swift!’ A touching moment, perhaps, except when Swift thanked all of her British friends in her acceptance speech, she nearly left Goulding off the list. By all accounts, the pair frollicked at the after party regardless. Swift initiated the friendship in 2012 after admiring Goulding’s music and telling her as such when they first met…”
What do you think of Goulding’s decision to appear in the “Bad Blood” video? Will you look forward to seeing Ellie Goulding as Destructa X?
