Bobbi Kristina Brown Update: ‘No Progress At All In Rehab, But Not Gone Yet,’ Says Cissy Houston
Bobbi Kristina Brown has remained in a long-term rehabilitation center at Atlanta’s Dekalb Medical hospital with no news of her condition since April. However, Cissy Houston opened up regarding Bobbi Kristina’s medical condition last week, and unfortunately, the prognosis is not looking good for the young reality star.
Entertainment Tonight reports that Houston, Bobbi Kristina’s grandmother, indicated in a recent interview that Bobbi Kristina’s medical condition is not changing, despite the incredible effort of physicians and medical staff.
“She’s the same, she’s not progressing at all. She’s not gone yet, but you know, whatever the Lord decides, I’m ready for her… I have nothing to do with that. That’s His job. It’s His territory, you know? And I understand it.”
Last month, Houston stated that Bobbi Kristina has “global and irreversible brain damage,” so although the news of no progress is to be expected, it’s still a devastating ordeal for the family to go through, day after day.
Houston, who performed at New Jersey’s McDonald’s Gospelfest on Saturday evening, also said that she gives thanks to every person who takes the time to pray for Bobbi Kristina Brown. As a firm believer in God, Houston leans on her family and the support of those who wish the best for her granddaughter.
“I’d like to thank everybody who was praying, who really knows the worth of prayer and I’m sure it’ll get through. I’m just waiting for whatever happens. We go to the hospital every day and pray and I talk to her because she can still hear and I rub her hand. We do what we can do. The rest is…all up to Him. We know nothing about His plan…All I can do is hope for the best.”
Meanwhile, Bobby Brown, 46, Bobbi Kristina’s father, was recently appointed co-guardian of his daughter’s medical care. Pat Houston, Bobbi Kristina’s aunt, was also appointed as co-guardian, meaning Brown now has the share the decision-making with another person.
Cissy Houston dismisses any claims of feuds after the court decision, stating that as a family, everyone is working as a team at this point.
“You want the best for whomever or everybody we can. We can be on the other side too if you make us be but we are not going to do that. There’s no reason for that. That’s why I’m concerned. So, that’s the end of that.”
Meanwhile, several attempts have been made to transfer Bobbi Kristina Brown to another hospital, but she was denied admittance, even though she is no longer on life support. So far, there’s no indication as to why the family wants to transfer Bobbi from Dekalb Medical.
