‘Mortal Kombat X’: The Glitch That Will Unlock Exclusive Skins And Literally Save Hours Of Gameplay
Mortal Kombat X Mobile came to smart phones in April and Mortal Kombat X players from the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC consoles who heard about the mobile-exclusive unlockables hurried to get the their hands on the app. This week, a Mortal Kombat glitch regarding the mobile-exclusive unlockables started to crawl around the web that could literally save players hours of their gameplay.
Gameranx reports a Reddit user BertrandsMate posted on the forums on how to unlock mobile-exclusive skins through the glitch.
“I know a kind redditor already shared his WB account and got most of you all the costumes. However, this could be a method for those that still don’t.”
- Go through the leaderboard
- Download and looked through one of the top players kombat history. (In my case I was bored and looking at the undefeated player on X1)
- Exit Leaderboard. (It might ask you to change factions, decline)
- Profit.
“This worked for me, however I need someone who will be able to confirm it happened for them too. Sorry if reposted, bot deleted original as title had mobile.”
The steps sound easy, but there are several Mortal Kombat players on the forum who couldn’t pull off the glitch. Yibada reports that there is a simple trick to working around the problem. The key to pulling off the Mortal Kombat X glitch is to choose the right player at the time. Since the Mortal Kombat leaderboards were always changing, the player may find it a little challenging to select a character that would unlock the targeted skin.
The source Reddit thread on the Mortal Kombat X glitch is ongoing as of the moment, and tips are continuously posted by Mortal Kombat X players on selecting the right characters for each console.
Some of the skins unlocked by the glitch are Ninja Mime Johnny Cage and Injustice Scorpion and these can only be unlocked to be used in Mortal Kombat X if the player also has the Mortal Kombat X Mobile installed and running. While these mobile-exclusive Mortal Kombat skins are free of charge, unlocking them will take a normal Mortal Kombat player hours. To take as an example, the Injustice Scorpion skin could only be unlocked after completing 100 multiplayer ladders in the leaderboard. That being said, the reported Mortal Kombat glitch will definitely save the player a couple of hours.
As of writing, NetherRealm Studios is yet to release a statement regarding the glitch and there are no reported Mortal Kombat X players banned or stripped of the unlocked skins. Trying the glitch is completely upon the player’s discretion.
Mortal Kombat X Mobile was released for iOS in April 7, while the Android version only came out on May 5. The app is separate from the Mortal Kombat X game released in consoles and PC but there are unlockables for the console that could only be unlocked through Mortal Kombat X Mobile and vice versa.
