British Video Game Award Winners Announced
Just as we have the “so-called” video game awards courtesy of Spike TV so do the British courtesy of their British Academy Video Games Awards (BAFTA), sort of the exact opposite in quality to the silliness we are subjected to every year on this side of the big pond.
Yesterday BAFTA announced their choices for winning video games but unlike Spike’s picks Skyrim was shut out of the awards with no wins at all. The other big favorite on this side of the ocean was Bastion but it also saw no love at all from the Brit judges.
Here’s the list of award winners from the BAFTA show:
- Action: Batman: Arkham City
- Artistic Achievement: Rayman Origins
- Audio Achievement: Battlefield 3
- Best Game: Portal 2
- Debut Game: Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet
- Design: Portal 2
- Family: LittleBigPlanet 2
- Game Innovation: LittleBigPlanet 2
- Mobile & Handheld: Peggle HD
- Online – Browser: Monstermind
- Online Multiplayer: Battlefield 3
- Original Music: LA Noire
- Performer: Mark Hamill – Joker in Batman: Arkham City
- Sport/Fitness: Kinect Sports 2
- Story: Portal 2
- Strategy: Total War: Shogun 2
- Game Award of 2011: Battlefield 3
Now I have to admit thaty I haven’t even heard of some of the games that made the list but hopefully one or two of your favorites racked up a win or two.
