Chris Soules Reveals Whitney Bischoff Had Good Reason To Miss ‘Dancing With The Stars’
For the first few weeks of Dancing With the Stars, Chris Soules got enthusiastic support from fiance Whitney Bischoff. Bischoff was in the audience applauding his heartfelt, if not always high-scoring, performances. Bischoff’s recent absence from the ballroom was attributed to her own need to get back to work. Whitney posted a photo to Instagram of herself at the Chicago fertility clinic where she is a nurse.
But Monday also marked another important day in Bischoff’s life. It was the anniversary of her mother’s death. As fans of The Bachelor remember, her family dynamic played an important role in the development of her relationship with Chris Soules. Bischoff took to Instagram to post a photo of her mother with a caption.
“Strong women…may we know them. May we raise them. May we be them. Remembering my mom today, and happy I get to do it with hers.”
Soules told Fox 411 his mind was on Bischoff this week as the anniversary approached.
“It was tough. I thought about her all week [because] she was going to be feeling those emotions again.”
He also explained how they are keeping up their long-distance relationship as he is in Los Angeles dancing for fans and she is back at work in Chicago.
“She’s able to kind of live. I’m kind of focused on trying to get the mirror ball. I have her in the evenings, we talk about the day and she’s my number one fan. I know she’s there for me and when all this is over, it will be nice to just be together.”
Chris Soules and Witney Carson are one of the final six couples on Dancing With the Stars. The couple has prevailed despite relatively low judges’ scores. Going into Tuesday night’s double elimination, they are in a pretty good spot, one point above Noah Galloway and Sharna Burgess and two points above Robert Herjavec and Kym Johnson.
As for the consistent rumors that Soules and Bischoff will soon call it quits, Chris was clear they just prefer a more private relationship. The couple has refrained from overt public displays of affection.
“A lot of people are like, why aren’t they posting pictures? It’s not really who we are as a couple. We’re together and we’re in love and we’re handling this like two adults.”
He also noted that Bischoff has her own career to think of as he continues to be a public personality.
“She’s got a life, too. She’s got a job and she’s got a career and she’s doing that. She’s gotta do what makes her happy and I’m focused on [DWTS] and having a great time and she’s happy for me.”
If Chris and Witney survive the double elimination, they will participate in next week’s semi-finals. Dancing With the Stars gets underway at 8 p.m. on ABC.
