Bill Rancic Defends Wife: Giuliana Rancic ‘Didn’t Do Anything Wrong’

Bill Rancic has defended his wife, Giuliana Rancic, months after she made some comments about Zendaya that many felt were racist. According to Us Weekly, Bill has remained quiet on the issues surrounding his wife, perhaps waiting for the dust to settle before making a comment of his own.

When he was recently asked how his wife was doing while sitting down for a chat with Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb, he had nothing but great things to say.

“She’s great. She is such a strong woman. She’s such an inspiration for me, and for our son. I mean, she’s been through so much over the last eight years since we’ve been married. I love her, obviously.”

Bill Rancic was also asked about the Zendaya controversy and how he and his wife dealt with the incredible backlash.

“It was tough. I was really surprised with how it happened, because, you know, her intent was to make a hippie joke. It had nothing to do with what some of these people were saying. And boy, it just took on a life of its own.

“We made a plan. We were gonna just kinda weather it. We’ve got a strong marriage. We love each other. And we knew that she didn’t do anything wrong. And obviously these situations bring us closer together. They can either tear you apart or bring you closer together, and we’re a team.”

Bill Rancic also said that he really wanted to defend his wife, but he had to let her go through this, apologize on her own, and move on. According to Today, Bill Rancic also said that if Joan Rivers was alive, none of this would have ever happened.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Giuliana came under fire for making a “joke” about Zendaya Coleman’s hairstyle at the

“[Zendaya’s hair looks] really heavy – it overwhelms her, and it’s just too boho. Zendaya is more high-fashion. The hair to me on her is making her a little more boho. Like I feel like she smells like patchouli oil. Or weed,” Giuliana said.

She later apologized to Zendaya and to anyone she may have offended. While many thought that she would lose her spot on Fashion Police, the E! News correspondent recently confirmed that she has been asked back to do the show.

Giuliana did lose a good friend, however. Kelly Osbourne was extremely offended by the comments, and she is no longer speaking to Rancic.
