Liam Payne Finds Zayn Malik’s Replacement? Says 1D Will Channel Oasis On New Album
Liam Payne claims he may have found Zayn Malik’s replacement as he teases about 1D’s new sound. The singer shared a clip on Instagram that showed a guy singing Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing.”
Payne included the following caption: “New fifth member? I think so.”
Directioners don’t have to worry just yet. The man sounded terrible in the clip that Liam Payne showed to his 5.1 million followers. Even Payne’s fans agreed that he shouldn’t become the band’s new member. He was obviously joking about the guy replacing Zayn Malik and becoming the new fifth guy of One Direction.
There is one thing that Payne isn’t joking around about. That is the band’s new sound. One Direction’s fifth album will be released later this year, according to Unreality TV. Some are speculating that the remaining members, including Payne, will separate once their contract ends at the end of this year. The guys have been hard at work on their new album since April.
Liam Payne had a phone interview with U.K.’s Capital FM radio on Monday morning, saying that their new album will channel the alternative band Oasis.
“The albums coming together really well actually. The boys we’ve been writing with have come up with some great, great songs that are kind of like a bit Oasis-y almost which is ace. I love that.”
“The songs have come out a bit more chill because I think we want this to be quite a long-lasting album that you can listen to anytime. You like how Ed [Sheeran’]s album, anytime you can thrown on an Ed song and it can always make sense. We’re trying to do that.”
The singer also confirmed that One Direction will be the first act to perform at Capital FM’s Summertime Ball, which will kick off at the Wembley Station in London, England on June 6. The radio host joked that Liam was leaking too much information early.
“We’re calling you ‘Leaky Liam!’ I have the right mind to take away your place on that stage!”
Payne joked in reference to Malik’s departure from the band.
“Oh, no, don’t do that! We’re already a man down! Don’t do that.”
Liam Payne also shared his aspirations to become a pool boy, which caused the hashtag #LIAMISTHEPOOLCLEANER to trend worldwide on Twitter. He explained why he always wanted to do the job that’s harder than it looks.
“It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. You get to use the net, fish out little leaves from the bottom of the pool [and] you can listen to your iPod while you’re working!”
What are your thoughts on Liam Payne revealing the details of One Direction’s fifth album? Does it make you excited for new music?
