Michelle Rounds said that Rosie O’Donnell needs to be drug tested as soon as possible, claiming that her ex-wife is not fit to parent the couple’s daughter because of illegal drug use. According to TMZ , the latest claims coming from Rounds have been made in an effort to obtain full custody of 2-year-old Dakota.
Currently, Rounds and O’Donnell share custody 50/50, and while the two figure all of this out in front of the court, Rounds wants her ex to submit to random drug testing, in hopes of being granted sole custody of the child sooner rather than later.
“Our sources say if the judge keeps the status quo while the case runs its course, Michelle’s lawyer will ask for an order requiring Rosie to submit to random drug and alcohol testing, and if the tests reveal a problem she can then ask for an emergency order.”
Michelle Rounds saying Rosie needs to be drug tested is interesting, given the timing. As previously reported by the Inquisitr , Rounds made claims that O’Donnell is an unfit parent , and that living with Rosie was not in Dakota’s best interest. The couple’s custody battle has only gotten more nasty since Rounds filed paperwork just last week.
“This is an absurd and desperate attempt to use a child for her own gain,” said Rosie’s lawyer. The talk show host has refused to make a statement, or to publicly comment on the matter further.
“I’m not commenting on legal issues,” said Rosie recently.
According to Fox News , Rounds claims that Rosie has a problem with drugs and alcohol . She reportedly said that Rosie drinks a bottle of wine each night, and that she smokes marijuana “regularly.” If this is true, and it is proven by a drug test, the court will likely grant Michelle full custody of Dakota.
Michelle says that this is the only concern of hers, and it is the only thing that she wants.
“I will walk away from every dime of Rosie’s money if I get full custody,” Rounds said.
Do you think Michelle Rounds saying that Rosie needs to be drug tested is a low blow? Or do you think that Rounds is genuinely worried about the well-being of her child, and hoping to provide a safe place to raise the toddler? How do you think this custody battle is going to shake out?
