Lindsey Vonn And Tiger Woods Call It Quits After Three Years Of Dating

Skier Lindsey Vonn and pro-golfer Tiger Woods have decided to call it quits.

After three years of dating, the couple announced that they had decided to go their separate ways.

Vonn was the first to make the announcement in a post on her personal Facebook page.

“After nearly three years together, Tiger and I have mutually decided to end our relationship. I will always cherish the memories that we’ve created together. Unfortunately, we both lead incredibly hectic lives that force us to spend a majority of our time apart.”

“I will always admire and respect Tiger,” she continued. “He and his beautiful family will always hold a special place in my heart.”

In a very similar message, Tiger confirmed Lindsey’s announcement on his personal website, Tigerwoods.com.

“Lindsey and I have mutually decided to stop dating. I have great admiration, respect and love for Lindsey and I’ll always cherish our time together. She has been amazing with Sam and Charlie and my entire family. Unfortunately, we lead very hectic lives and are both competing in demanding sports. It’s difficult to spend time together.”

While the couple was seemingly inseparable during their time together, E! News reports that Vonn had always been very vocal about her desire to not get married.

“No, thanks!” she told Vogue magazine for their August, 2013, issue. “I am definitely not getting married. To anyone.”

Both Lindsey and Tiger have had to deal with recovering from injuries, and Lindsey says he really helped her cope during her time off.

“I’m not a very patient person,” the Olympic gold medalist told the co-host of the Today show during a 2013 interview. “He’s very patient and he’s very mentally tough. He’s a grinder. He works extremely hard, and he’s obviously also had an ACL injury as well and had the same surgery, so he knew what I was going through. He said just be patient, keep working hard, and everything is going to turn around. It really helped me get through it.”

Vonn and Woods were both previously married. Woods was married to Swedish model Elin Nordegren, with whom he has his two kids- Sam, 7, and Charlie, 6. Vonn’s ex-husband was her coach, Thomas Vonn.
