Harrison Ford Looks Like A Boss In Magazine Cover With Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, BB-8 And Chewie
Harrison Ford looks every part Han Solo, the character Star Wars fans love so much, and has landed on the cover of Vanity Fair alongside Daisy Ridley (Rey), John Boyega (Finn), BB-8, and Chewbacca.
The new magazine cover will certainly have Harrison Ford and Star Wars fans super excited as the release of The Force Awakens nears (not soon enough). The awesome cast photo was captured by Annie Leibovitz and will appear in Vanity Fair’s June issue, which is available in the digital form on May 7 and on newsstands on May 12, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Fans will be excited to see Harrison Ford looking like a boss, as Han Solo, the intergalactic smuggler, who joins the good side of The Force in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The original cast member has had a rough few months and is recovering from a plane crash, which nearly cost him his life earlier this year.
The air scare came after Ford had to undergo surgery in one of his legs, after a freak, on set accident last summer. One of the hydraulic doors in the Millennium Falcon — Solo’s famous spaceship — fell on him while filming The Force Awakens at Pinewood Studios in London. Ford was rushed to the hospital by first responders and the production had to take some time-off to allow him to recover.
The 72-year-old actor is reprising his role from the original trilogy alongside Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), Kenny Baker (R2-D2), and Anthony Daniels (C3PO). The beloved character is still one of the most popular with fans, a fact proven by the warm reception Harrison Ford received when he and Chewie made a brief appearance in the Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer at the end of the panel.
Director J.J. Abrams told the audience who attended The Force Awakens panel that he had been in touch with Harrison Ford and he was feeling great and recovering nicely. In true Han Solo form, Ford told his director he didn’t have time to meet him in person because he had company, but the two talked on the phone.
Vanity Fair will surely have trouble keeping copies of its June issue on stands, as fans are so eager for The Force Awakens that they will go to any length to have the latest photos. Ford is joined by “human” newcomers Daisy Ridley, who plays the scavenger, Rey, and John Boyega, who portrays Finn, a renegade Stormtrooper in the film that lands in theaters on December 18.
