‘Avengers 2’ Spoiler: Tony Stark’s J.A.R.V.I.S. Changes Into Something Awesome And Ultron Gets Jealous
In case you didn’t make it to the Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron premiere, something pretty interesting happened to Tony Stark’s A.I., J.A.R.V.I.S. He fought!
During Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ultron somewhat incapacitated J.A.R.V.I.S., or so he thought. Tony Stark left J.A.R.V.I.S., voiced by Paul Bettany, to do the bulk of the heavy-lifting, as far as finding out how to harness and incorporate the energy from the Tesseract. The plan? As can be seen from Avengers: Age of Ultron‘s previews, it was create a globalized army of armored protectors.
How did they get the Tesseract? Well, they recovered it from Strucker’s lair. Thor, one of the Avengers, allowed Stark to run tests on it in his facility, in order to gain knowledge about its make-up. However, unbeknown to Thor, Tony had other plans for it, as aforementioned.
Well, after J.A.R.V.I.S. found a way inside Ultron, via help of the Tesseract, he quickly realized that Ultron had malicious intent. But while attempting to contact Stark, Tony’s Ultron creation seemingly overpowered him.
As the movie progresses, this particular A.I. was wreaking havoc all over the world. At first, Ultron was in a horrible-looking piece of armor he constructed, himself. It was all bad. However, after they destroyed his bodysuit, they accidentally set him free, as energy. At that point, without J.A.R.V.I.S. as the first line of defense, Ultron made his way through the internet to continue his reign of terror.
Later, you find that J.A.R.V.I.S. is still alive and was protecting the internet’s mainframe from being Ultron-hacked to the fullest. As Ultron was obsessed with evolving, he “convinced” a scientist to build him an organic body.
Long-story-short, the Avengers stole it and pushed J.A.R.V.I.S.’ consciousness through it. At that point, Tony’s J.A.R.V.I.S. was no longer the one everyone knew. He didn’t even give himself a name but just said, “I am.” However, this character said to be Vision.
Being on neither the Avengers’ side nor Ultron’s, he said he was on the side of life. Everyone was iffy about it until he picked up Thor’s hammer and handed it to him as they got ready to exit. Surely, he was “worthy.” Thor immediately followed him without hesitation.
J.A.R.V.I.S. ended up being the one to kill Ultron. Imagine that. Also, afterwards, he officially became one of the Avengers‘ team members, led by Captain America and Black Widow.
Not to completely give the movie away in the ultimate spoiler, but Avengers’ J.A.R.V.I.S. was definitely bad-a**.
