Pedophile Convicted Of Raping One-Day-Old Child, Continued Horrific Abuse Over Five Years With Multiple Children

Stuart Young, 37, of Edinburgh, has been convicted of two counts of rape and sexual harassment after it was discovered he raped a 1-day-old child, along with other children between 2008 and 2013. His reign of sexual abuse and rape of young children continued for the five-year period, with multiple known victims and suspicion of others, some of whom were babies when the sexual abuse began.

Young’s preference for children was not hindered by their gender, and he is known to have chosen children from ages 1-day-old to at least 9-years-old. Young was convicted of sex crimes yesterday and is expected to be sentenced on May 28.

Sexual abuse of the 1-day-old male and a 6-year-old female took place in Edinburgh but were not limited to the area, as he was allowed access to the children outside of their hometowns. A third victim of rape and sexual abuse was 9-years-old, and her abuse was limited to time spent in Edinburgh. One of the two girls reported the sexual abuse, and authorities quickly intervened in the matter. Young was arrested in 2014 and charged quickly thereafter. Due to the ages of the minors involved, none of the children’s names have been revealed.

Called the “Baby Rapist” by the Mirror, Young’s sexual crimes have labeled him as one of the most horrific criminals tried by the High Court of Edinburgh. Jurors on the trial have been relieved of jury duty for five years due to the appalling details they were introduced to.

Judge Anderson, who oversaw the trial, stated that Young’s actions were “truly depraved and despicable crimes.” Young’s attorney stated that once arrested, he knew he would spend time in jail for his sexual deviation.

Detective Inspector Douglas Moran was proud of the children for displaying bravery during the trial and sharing their incidents of sexual abuse and rape.

“Thanks to the bravery of these two little girls in speaking up about the horrific abuse Young inflicted upon them, their physical ordeal is over and their tormentor is now facing a considerable prison sentence.”

According to the Edinburgh News, Young is expected to remain in jail until his May 28 sentencing. However, he has also been placed on the sexual offender registry list.

Young’s trial lasted only one week, and he was convicted of rape and sexual assault after only two hours.
