Farmington, Missouri Park Brawl Video Shows Man Pulling Gun On Fighting Teens

Dramatic cell phone video captured at a Farmington, Missouri, skate park Tuesday night shows an adult man apparently pulling a gun in an effort to break up a fight between two teenage girls, KTVI (Saint Louis) is reporting.

No one called the police during the fight, and the Farmington Police Department only became aware of the man pulling a gun on the teenagers when a KTVI reporter brought it to their attention.

The Farmington, Missouri, skate park is a popular teen hangout in the small city about 70 miles south of St. Louis. It’s managed cooperatively between the City of Farmington and a nearby church.

“The largest outdoor concrete Skate Park in Southeast Missouri featuring 30,000 square feet of challenging twists and turns for both beginning and advanced skaters. The Skate Park is located at 404 Ste. Genevieve Avenue (the old swimming location). The facility welcomes inline-skates, skateboards, and BMX bikes. The Skate Park is FREE of charge and open to everyone. The facility is unsupervised, and users assume all risks inherent in the use of the facility.”

Unfortunately, that lack of supervision means that fights at the skate park are not uncommon, say teenagers who spoke to reporters. But one teen who spoke on camera said that he didn’t really think pulling a gun was necessary to break up a teenage fist fight.

“Yeah, it was crazy, like, I’ve never seen anyone pull a gun out. Especially right here, in the middle of town, right by the police station. I don’t know what they were thinking.”

The man who pulled the gun on the fighting teenagers has not been identified as of this post. He’s known among the teens who frequent the skate park as “an adult who spends a lot of time in this area.” It’s unclear why he hangs out at the skate park.

The two teenage girls involved in the fight have not been identified as of this post; however, their ages have been reported as 14 and 15. At least one of the teens was injured in the brawl, suffering a black eye, although if she sustained that injury via the fight or by being roughed up by the intervening adult is not clear.

A spokesperson for the Farmington Police Department said that the fight is currently under investigation and that the police chief intends to hold a press conference Friday.
