Actress and Oscar winner Charlize Theron, 36, has adopted a little bundle of joy. The actress’ rep confirmed on Wednesday that she has adopted her first child.
According to Theron’s rep she:
“has adopted a child … She is the proud mom of a healthy baby boy named Jackson.”
This is the first child for the South African born actress who claimed the 2003 Oscar for her turn as a serial killer in Monster.
At this time no further details have been revealed about the adoption.
The move to adopt rather than get married and have children the “natural” way has never seem to bother Charlize Theron. In fact in 2011 when she was asked about tying the knot she responded that marriage was “never something that was important [to me].”
In the meantime her adoption of son Jackson hasn’t slowed down Theron in the least, she currently has two movies in post-production including Snow White and the Huntsman where she plays Queen Ravenna and Prometheus where she plays Meredith Vickers. Theron was also announced for a role in the movie Two Eyes Staring which is still in pre-production.
She might not have her eye set on marriage at this time but one thing is for certain Charlize Theron will definitely need daycare or perhaps a nanny in the near future as she continues to bang out movies while raising her first child.
Are you a fan of Charlize Theron’s attempt to start a family without worrying about marriage?
