Laura Spencer To ‘General Hospital’: Genie Francis Set To Return To Port Charles
Fresh on the heels of Genie Francis appearing with Anthony Geary at the Daytime Emmy Awards show comes big news for General Hospital fans. Though little is known yet in terms of specifics, it seems that Laura is returning to Port Charles for a spin. What’s the scoop?
In the midst of the news that Tony and Genie would be together presenting at the Daytime Emmy Awards show last Sunday, many GH fans lamented that they wanted to see Luke and Laura on television screens together again. Now the sudser’s executive producer has shared that it is actually happening, or at least may be happening.
Frank Valentini tweeted, “Hey #GH fans: I have AWESOME news…@GenieFrancis is coming back to @GeneralHospital!!!”
Fans were quick to share their excitement at the news, and many already have ideas about what they do and don’t want to see happen with Francis in her Port Charles return. It seems that most of all, GH viewers want to see Genie given a juicy story that really showcases her talent.
At this point, Valentini isn’t dishing out any specifics regarding Francis’ return. While fans may assume that she’s coming back as Laura Spencer and will get the chance to interact with Luke, Nikolas, and Lulu, those details have yet to be confirmed. Valentini also didn’t share anything regarding how long the actress would be back.
The big fake Luke storyline involving Anthony Geary dragged on for far longer than most fans wanted to see, though it came to an end with an interesting resolution. Where does the character of Laura fit into the picture now?
Many fans are already speculating and worrying that Laura will come back essentially to walk off with Luke into the sunset, given the General Hospital spoilers and speculation that Geary is set to officially retire from the soap. Celeb Dirty Laundry teased not long ago that word on the street was that Geary was ready to call it quits for good on the character, likely in large part as a result of the complicated back surgery he went through last year. So far, though, nobody knows for certain.
How long will Genie Francis be back on the soap? When will she first appear? What will her storyline be? So far, none of those specifics are known, so fans will have to stay tuned for more General Hospital spoilers as things progress.
