Alleged Shoplifter Wears ‘Won’t Be Caught’ T-Shirt [Video]
An alleged shoplifter is apparently confident she won’t be caught by law enforcement because she wore a T-shirt that said just that during an apparent theft.
The “fashion” police seem determined to take the suspect into custody, however.
The woman and a female companion who were filmed on a surveillance camera allegedly took about $1,500 in merchandise from a beauty supply store in the Tampa, Florida area without paying.
It remains to be seen if the suspect in question was dressed for success in this regard because she is still at large, as is her alleged accomplice.
The incident occurred on March 15 in Citrus Park, but the Hillsborough County Sheriff just released the surveillance images of the alleged perpetrators in an attempt to prove wrong the T-shirt wording imprinted in bright white lettering.
“The robbery occurred around 3:42 p.m. when two female suspects entered the Ulta Beauty Supply located at 12715 Citrus Plaza Drive and stole $1,478.00 worth of cologne and perfumes. They put the merchandise in a bag that they produced from one of their purses,” WTSP Tampa Bay Sarasota explained. The unpaid items taken from the store reportedly included designer brands such as Chanel, Polo, Mont Blanc, Yves Saint Laurent, and Michael Kors.
The duo allegedly drove off with their stash in a newer model bright blue Hyundai, detectives have indicated.
Cops insist that the “won’t be caught” T-shirt language is not going to turn out to be prophetic. According to one of the investigators, Larry McKinnon, “Anytime that we are challenged, I think it gives us a little more incentive to work harder… We’d like to prove with the community’s help that she is not untouchable, that she will be caught, and she will be placed where she deserves to be, and that’s behind bars,” MyFox Tampa Bay reported.
With that in mind, law enforcement authorities have asked anyone with information about the suspects to contact the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office or Crime Stoppers.
“Think twice before you flaunt your wardrobe and show your style with an edgy fashion statement. This gal didn’t think she’d get caught — but she already got caught on video surveillance and she just might soon catch hell,” the Florida SunSentinel quipped.
After being caught on video at least, do you think it’s likely that the “won’t be caught” T-shirt suspect will be caught by police soon?
