Nikki Reed Marries Ian Somerhalder, His ‘Vampire Diaries’ Costar Kat Graham Calls Them ‘Literally Perfect’

Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder officially swapped vows this past Sunday. According to the Daily Mail, the couple wed in Santa Monica on April 26. Somerhalder remarked via Twitter that the day of the wedding was “most beautiful morning ever…”

This marriage is the second go around for the Twilight alum, who discussed her relationship with Somerhalder in an interview with Us Weekly.

“What’s nurtured this long friendship that we’ve had is that we are passionate about similar things, whether its animals or the environment or education or climate change,”Reed stated during the Noble Awards in L.A. “So we do wake up in the morning and talk about those things.”

Kat Graham, who plays Bonnie Bennett on The Vampire Diaries, also shared her excitement about the couple’s engagement to People. “I haven’t met two people that were more soul mates than those guys,” Kat explained to the outlet during a Foster Grant photoshoot. “They are so absolutely amazing. Everyone loves them, and I really can’t imagine him with anyone else.”

Kat and Ian have a great relationship outside of the show. In fact, she is known to join them in celebrations off camera and she even tags along when Nikki and Ian go horseback riding.

“They are literally perfect — from their Humane Society work together to them wanting to make the world a better place,” Kat added.”I mean, it’s really exciting when you see two people come together that are amazing. [Nikki is] a pretty absolutely stellar person and she’s actually now one of my best friends. I love that girl.”

Nikki Reed and The Vampire Diaries star became engaged back in January after dating for around six months. Since then, the couple has been anything but shy about their relationship. According to an inside source who spoke with Us, the couple’s relationship has been long in development. “They were friends before, the groundwork had been laid before,” the source explained. “They had always been attracted to each other, but always in another relationship.”

Meanwhile, although Graham is convinced they are perfect for each other, the only thing Reed says they fight over is eye color. “He thinks his eyes are ocean blue and I think they’re aqua,” she joked with People.

Reed is known for her onscreen performances in the Twilight series while Somerhalder enjoys his time spent on The Vampire Diaries. Nikki Reed’s first marriage was with American Idol star Paul McDonald, which lasted two years before a breakup in March 2014.
