Scottie Pippen’s Daughter Arrested: Sierra Pippen Faces Charges After Hotel Lobby Urination Incident
NBA star Scottie Pippen’s daughter was arrested over the weekend for allegedly urinating in the middle of a hotel lobby. The former Chicago Bulls star’s daughter Sierra Pippen, 20, was seemingly intoxicated when the incident happened around 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning.
According to the Gazette, Scottie Pippen’s daughter was arrested in Iowa City, Iowa after entering the Sheraton Inn lobby and urinating on the floor of the lobby near the front desk. She left after the incident, but police soon found her on a walkway next to the hotel.
When the police interacted with her, she reportedly had issues with impaired balance and speech along with watery and bloodshot eyes, and she smelled of alcohol. In addition, Sierra Pippen was apparently wearing two wristbands from nearby bars.
Reports indicate that Pippen did not cooperate in breath tests and field sobriety tests, and she accused the officer of being racist towards her. She was then arrested on charges of public urination and public intoxication.
A prior incident apparently involving Pippen happened on April 10 when Sierra got into a fight with Sheraton Inn security members. She seemingly was intoxicated in that instance too, as a breath test during that incident showed her to have a blood alcohol content of.141 percent. She was arrested in that incident as well.
According to the Press-Citizen, after Scottie Pippen’s daughter’s arrest she was released on a $500 bond Sunday morning. Sierra is a student at the University of Iowa in Iowa City and the general manager of the hotel has said she was not a guest at the hotel.
Scottie Pippen was a six-time NBA champion, playing much of his career with the Chicago Bulls. He retired in 2004 and the Bulls retired his number in 2005. Pippen was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2010.
The former NBA star has had some legal issues of his own over the years as well. As for his daughter Sierra’s recent troubles, Scottie hasn’t said anything on social media about the incidents, it seems. According to the Associated Press via the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Sierra will appear in court over this latest incident on May 28.
It seems unlikely that Sierra Pippen will face particularly harsh consequences over the hotel lobby urination incident. However, having two similar incidents in the same month likely won’t go over well in court. For now, fans of the NBA star will have to stay tuned to hear what comes next after Scottie Pippen’s daughter’s arrests in Iowa.
