‘Batman: Arkham Knight’ Season Pass Preps Six Months Of DLC Content
The inevitable Season Pass was announced Tuesday for Batman: Arkham Knight. PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC gamers that purchase the pass separately or as part of the Premium Edition can look forward to content added to the game over a six-month period after release.
The Season Pass for Batman: Arkham Knight will cost $39.99 by itself, while the Premium Edition is $99.99 and comes with the digital version of the game plus the Season Pass. Exact details of what is included in the Season Pass are sparse right now, but Warner Bros. gave the following high level overview in a press release I received.
“The Batman: Arkham Knight Season Pass will deliver regular new content for six months post-launch including new story missions, additional super-villains invading Gotham City, legendary Batmobile skins, advanced challenge maps, alternative character skins, and new drivable race tracks,” the publisher announced. “The Batman: Arkham Knight Premium Edition includes the main game and the Season Pass.”

The Arkham series is no stranger to DLC as Batman: Arkham City in particular received different packs featuring Nightwing and Robin plus new Challenge maps. There were also various skin packs released with alternate Batman costumes. This all ended with the Harley Quinn’s Revenge story mission that picked up after the end of the game. The Arkham Knight DLC possibly sounds a little meatier, as it mentions multiple new story missions versus just one for Arkham City. However, we’ll have to wait for an official reveal of what is coming before making that call.

There are other editions of Batman: Arkham Knight available, of course, that may affect your purchasing decision. There’s a Limited Edition starring a statue of Batman available for $99.99. Meanwhile, an even more expensive Batmobile Edition for $200 was also made available, but has already been sold out. There’s also the PS4 Limited Edition console version as well. Neither Warner Bros. nor Rocksteady Studios has said that the Season Pass will be available in any of these three editions.
Batman: Arkham Knight is currently set for a June 23 release for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Warner Bros has been busy announcing new features, but not going into in-depth detail. Yesterday, the publisher announced the “Dual Play” mechanic that will allow play as Nightwing, Robin, Catwoman, and possibly Azrael during the game’s campaign. The accompanying video demonstrated some of the tag-team wrestling like moves that will be available, but we did not get an explanation of exactly when, how, and for how long the new mechanic can be utilized.
